What could it be that makes sushi addictive? I'm really curious... It's been a lot less recently, but I still love it. I force myself to prepare it only once a week, though.

SpongeBob still remains as the big obsession.

My old obsession, Rugrats, however, has became a bit of a special interest for the past few days. I'll give it about a week or two until another mini-special interest comes.

When I was a student, my obsessions were perfectly acceptable. After all, I was supposed to be researching things. If something caught my interest, then it was OK to pursue.

Now that I've had to take a nonacademic job, my obsessions are socially unacceptable. Here's a list of some recent ones:

Nuclear reactors and reprocessing
Single-wing football (really an old one that's come back. Thank God for the Wildcat offense.)
Canadian football
Golf (I've been trying to learn, but have been hampered by injuries. Nonetheless, my obsession has decreased.)
Rugby
Autism
Language classification (an old one too, come back with a vengeance)
American passenger jets
Transit systems in places I've already visited
Understanding Islam

I am obsessed with parrots, human anatomy, and Christian music. But when I was 7, I was obsessed with cows, and horses, and after that when I was about 10 years old, I was obsessed with cats. I have been obsessed with birds for almost 5 years, and the other 2 things, for about 2 years.

I'm always getting fascinated by fictional characters, books or television. I got very obsessed with Monk recently (obviously he's aspie, but with lots of other things thrown in) but recently I'm getting into House. By which I mean, I've watched everything that's been on British tv, have bought all the dvds, etc etc.

House, by the way, isn't aspie, so far as I can tell. Though, at one point the characters thought he might be... then they decided it's not that he's bad at social interaction... he actually understands the rules perfectly. He's deliberately breaking them because he's a mean and miserable git.

Right at the moment he's in the throes of a nervous breakdown. It's well written, and well acted. So, yes... I'm hooked.

My latest obsession is ancient runes. I have pictures of them everywhere. My neighbours think I'm going to turn into a viking and pillage the grocery store, since my last obsession was the tree of life in viking mythology, and Fenir.

My life-long worship of medical and horoscope astrology is still going strong. I think I will specialize in it and join a psychic fair after being a bio-chemist (another life long obsession) for a few years to build my dream house.

My latest new interest are Bakugan (the anime), Ben 10 & Percy Jackson book series.

I read the first three books in the series and I can't wait to read the next two!

I'm still obsessed with Japanese and Japanese dramas, which I have been for around two years now (although I think the obsession may be waning a little bit).

At the moment I also have a short-term obsession with the Hillsborough football stadium disaster.
