Damn that is sexy! Why is it other countries get all the good Ford's :-(

I agree - we are very lucky to have such great cars in Australia. The Fords, Toyotas and - as much as I hate to admit it - Holdens are all really good looking machines.

<rant>It's not just Australia, all of Europe, and the Middle East get the cool cars and here where they come from we get s**t. </rant>

Here is my 2004 Ford Focus:

I drive a bomb...
I have had my license for 7 years, and I have been on my red 'P' plates here in Australia for 7 years, because I am completley uninterested in getting green 'P' plates and then a full black license.

I think this may give you some indication about the relationship between me, motoring, and cars....

Personally, i dont know f*ck all about cars, and i don't really care for driving. Wouldn't mind a motorbike though, i guess its the more "solo" way to go.

i love nearly all things automotive... in particular VW group vehicles, this includes (but is not limited to) manufacturers as follows; VW, Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini, and Bugatti... this is in part due to a family link to Wolfsburg, and in part due to the fact that Germans do it better 8) :D (hehe).

for those unfamiliar please refer to the VW group Wikipedia entry (click).

that is not to say that i don't appreciate the fine work that come out of Italy (!), or the wizardry of Japanese manufacturers... it's just that German auto-makers (or German engineered vehicles) seem to offer a complete package; equal measures of function and form, practicality, and in some cases tire shredding performance... bliss.

happiness is the sound of throttle over-run, a heel toe symphony, and feeling your jugular artery pulsing as you push to ten tenths.

(:D on a track, of course).

The test to get the green P's is very very easy, to the point where it is absolutely no hassle to get (apart from paying the test fee and waiting around at the RTA for your number to be called). It's a good idea to progress to your black licence, just in case you need to tow a trailer/caravan or something one day, or teach someone else to drive.

My car is nothing special (it's just a faux Lancer VRX aka. Velocity ES), but I still like to admire it. I want to get a Ralliart or an Evo one day. I don't have much of an eye for good cars to be honest.

I love cars and I love driving them. Unfortunately they've never been a special interest although I would have liked them to be. Perhaps one day I will find the right teacher.

The reason I can't find 'the right teacher' is because I know nothing about them (and seem to have wrecked several through different means; won't go into details  ) yet I have an understanding of theoretical physics that would easily allow my understanding of automotives. I come across as dumb though and then they just won't take me seriously.

edit - I am good at finding bargain cars because I'm good at finding bargains.

My favourite cars are Jaguar and Volvo. Of course I like some BMWs Mercedes and Porsche. I dislike small cars in general and badly made cars. I have a thing about Hyundai. I could sooner see myself flying to the moon than driving one of those sardine cans.

thank you blue-bean. i am aware the test is very easy.
but it is more about disinterest and also autistic inertia. Things like appointments, tests, etc are hard for met because I find it difficult to contend with things outside of my usual state and my usual routines.

When I read these forums, I begin to realise just how invisibly impaired I am, but so much of this went undetected because of my hyper-verbal skills. I have phenomenal verbal skills - spiking way beyond the average, and impairments in a host of areas that leave me rather impaired - particularly in the realms of sensory overload, executive functioning and planning and in terms of task shifting (hence I get stuck on one thing for a few years and it consumes me, then i move on to the next) and some other routines and rigidities that others here seem to take in their stride.
As for teaching someone else to drive......... i...don't...think...so.

I got my licence on my 18th birthday. In Victoria, you have to be 18yo to get a licence. That should give you an ideal of how keen I was to start driving.

Cars: a very useful invention to get from A-B in relative comfort.
