It has gotten less intense for me the older I get.

My mother used to loathe shopping for/with when I was a kid because I hated most fabrics and the tags had to be in certain places or they'd often bug me even when cut off. I wouldn't wear much other than cotton and it couldn't be denim. These days I can wear most things except wool.

I hate being tickled... especially on the sides of my torso... it's feels like being shocked. The good thing is that I used to be very ticklish. Now I'm only ticklish in certain spots.

I love being hugged by most of my friends most of the time but I hate it when people do those hit you on the back things or people I've never spoken to before try to hug me. I generally like to give hugs more than I like others to initiate them though.

I've also gotten the bugs crawling on/burroughing through my skin. It took me years to figure out that's what my hair feels like when I don't wash the gel out of it at night before bed.

NOBODY can touch my feet. No matter what. Not even a doctor. I even have trouble touching my own feet. Cutting my toenails = HELL.

I once spent some time trying to tickle my own feet to see if I could get used to it. :)
Idiotic I know. Didn't work, it was horrible.

One thing I really can't understand, how could anyone want to be a chiropodist? OMG, what a horrible job.

I completely agree. And who could be mad enough to go to one?

I suppose some people can't reach their feet or have frequent problems down there, infections or ingrown nails and stuff. My gran was disabled due to old age and saw a chiropodist.

In answer to the other question, there are people with a sexual interest in feet too. Maybe chiropodists work in that area because of a similar, uh, "special interest". I really can't imagine what could be so interesting though. :?

I've always known I could handle pain better than most (including dental work and the odd scrape or bump) but always assumed it was just a random quirk - never seen it related to ASD in any notes before... Interesting revelation. Heck I had a bicycle accident about 4 years ago, left a chunk of flesh the size of a quarter somewhere off the side of the road (torn out of my face just below the temple) and figured I'd just walk home and rinse off the blood - didn't know it was bad until some construction workers freaked out...

Sensitivity to fabrics.. there's a certain class of fabric (usually blankets) that even the -shudder- thought of makes me freeze up (I'm hurting as I write this) and sets my teeth on edge. A few others too.. and for the longest time I wouldn't wear jeans (I was still wearing jogging pants in grade 12 high school... imagine how that worked out for me).

Rashes or clamminess .. yeah I have that too. I wonder if maybe the rash I've got on my legs (curse you Dial* brand soap, and the people at your customer service line too!) could be considered part of this topic - have had it for 4 years (occurred right after the bike accident - open wounds on legs got infected by the perfumes in the soap?) and unless I'm seriously distraced by something interested, I imagine I can feel every little nerve knitting up. Half the reason I still have the rash is an inabilitty to ignore it.

Tickling not so much. Random touches omg yes! Horrible. Someone at work actually gave me a wet willie once, from behind, and I flipped out. Later I explained that touching my head was a no-no (heck my upper back is a no-no too) and a slimy finger in the ear is.. well.. indescribable.

The guy quit working there and I was told a few months later on that it was because I'd scared the hell out of him (and everyone else working that day).

Edit: Euphoria... hmm.. yes. the inside curve at the back of my neck. I think I know where it comes from too.. my mom used to rub that spot when I was very young. I wonder if that's where it comes from for all of us?

Yeah - when I last went to the doctors I had to have my tummy felt (because I kept getting those diarhoea pains), and lying when the doctor did it, my stomach muscles kept jolting because it's so sensitive there. Even before she felt it, it started jolting. But I didn't feel annoyed or uncomfortable when she was feeling my tummy because I'm a type of person who doesn't mind being touched (where appropriate).

I heard a lot of Aspies don't like their hair being touched - but I love it. When I was little at school, in assembly we had to sit on the floor and my friend used to try and sit directly behind me so she can play with me hair all through the assembly, and it was heaven! :D Even now I like my hair being touched - I even ask my mum to comb and dry it after I've washed it.

I don't like being touched at all and I hardly stand through getting a haircut. There is only one exception, and that's when it is about touching animals - no problem with animals whatsoever. I play for hours with dogs, cats or whatever there might live in a cage but I would try to avoid giving my own mother a hug.
Clothes tags are removed the second I buy the item and I can't even look at wool - last time I was presented with a woolen sweater I burst out in rashes before I even touched the thing. I can't wear lace or synthetics or anything that is too tight. Can't stand cold water for a second and I've been known to move out of hotel rooms because the water wasn't hot enough (that is what normal people call scalding hot).

Very, very sensitive skin. Sometimes I get this feeling (my arms and shoulders, usually) that miniscule droplets of fire are pounding my skin. When I look at my arms, it's really just raindrops...

Then with touch (human-to-human), I detest light touch GREATLY, like many of us do.

I relate to so much of what has been said so far, especially clothing tags, and heat.

I painted a house this summer in 90 degree weather and it put me into a serious depression. I cannot cool down well at all. When I complain about the heat people tell me to deal with it, or suck it up and that infuriates me.

But by far the worst thing is when my forehead is just slightly sweaty, touching it at all sets off a sensation that feels like Im being combed with razor blades from my eyebrows to my hairline.

I also HATE cold water. It takes me at least 30 mins to get into a pool that isn't warm enough.

Yes. Generally I don't like it. Also I have an issue with labels on clothes and will cut them out. I have learned that this is fairly common for Aspies/autistic people.

I am extremely ticklish.
I can't deal with hot, humid weather (I easily get sick in it).
If it is drizzling outside I have to put my umbrella up cuz the lightness of that kind of rain bothers me SO much!
I like the feeling of getting pierced.
The feeling of being sweaty is so disgusting to me that I avoid exercising.

That's me in every aspect, without the rain issue but I don't like rain anyway because it gets on my glasses.
This summer was so hot and humid that I felt sick and nauseated only after 10 seconds outside and I felt an urge to flap my hands so as to cause some movement in the air.
I do wonder, how 'normal' people can stand being sweaty for hours. I hate the very idea.
