I'm starting to get the impression that people aren't taking this thread seriously. ;)

You blasphemer!
Everyone knows that NT's are evil and wish nothing but the destruction of Autistic Kind.

Would you change your gender or race if offered 1 million dollars? It's the same as asking this question. I wouldn't want to suddenly become a different gender or race than I am and the same goes for suddenly becoming neurotypical.

The DSM-IV doesn't list race or gender as disabilities though.

So. Homosexuality was once listed. Should all homosexuals take something to become straight?

there are many who are of that opinion, Signs654. Some people think you can pray people straight.

Most likely yes, I'd probably do a lot of thinking but I'd most likely say yes.

ay yi yi...

Only one who'd ever get paid a nickel would be a test subject in human trials...

They might charge a million for it, but it'd be more of a condition of; would my insurance cover it out of pocket? or would the deductible be too high?...;)

I doubt that.

I guess you don't know many NTs, huh?

No, I do not want to be cured. For me to become NT would take away who I have always been. It would be a horrible mistake for me to be cured. I love my interests, etc. No thanks, keep the million dollars.

No, and I'll tell you why in a completely non-emotional way.

The only instance in which they would be PAYING you 1 million to be "cured" would be in the case of an experimental drug or procedure that has a high risk of damage/death. So experimental that they won't even test it on convicts. So experimental that the 1 million isn't even intended for your own personal expenditure, it's main purpose is for compensating your family in the likely instance of death or permanent brain damage. If things DO work out...everyone benefits, if it doesn't...your family gets 1 million to not sue.

In a realistic scenario, if the procedure had no negative side-effects or risk, they would be CHARGING you 1 million dollars to be cured.

I wouldn't take the cure if I was offered that money. I like my unique view of the world, and I enjoy all the things that make me different.
