yep - that'll do the trick. i have a liking for Rilke, anyway.

so, best thing would be to surprise me with the poem, and let the bombshell fall. but there is one thing - don't i already know how old you are?

erm...

:?
yes, but for reasons known to a select few, no one ever believes me when I say how old I am. I did have a grey hair in 1988, but I was so excited I pulled it out to save it and then I didn't get any more :(
I actually carry my birth certificate as proof.

For Vivi, I think Neruda would be good too...
It will be a surprise....

How old are you?

uncharacteristically, NM offers hugs to all (once a year, get 'em while they're hot!) for New Years...

(looks around for Vivi)
:(
I have to go now....won't be back online for a few hours.

flirting is so easy....

The Wait
Rainer Maria Rilke

It is life in slow motion,
it's the heart in reverse,
it's a hope-and-a-half:
too much and too little at once.

It's a train that suddenly
stops with no station around,
and we can hear the cricket,
and, leaning out the carriage

door, we vainly contemplate
a wind we feel that stirs
the blooming meadows, the meadows
made imaginary by this stop.

Flirt? But you're about 10 years older than my mom. :? (Nevermind the fact I already have in the ancient flirting thread.)
