i also like tight clothes. (i'm female) feel uncomfortable in even vaguely loose underwear, and prefer skivvies and leggings rather than floaty stuff of any sort. however will also wear cargo pants because they have some weight to them, as long as they are not scratchy and most importantly IT IS NOT A HOT DAY.
my clothing sense is primarily determined by how hot/cold it will make me. i have such difficulties with regulating temperature that my idea of "generic outfit" is a very thin sleeveless or strapped top, plus a thin outer jacket, plus a big polarfleece jacket - means i can take off and put things on depending on temperature. bottoms are on the light side (have recently discovered i like leggings with a skirt, but before that, also liked close-fitting, stretchy light-material jeans. cargos are cool but you can't take them off if it gets too hot!! (i've done so anyway, haha, thank goodness there was no one in the room at the time)
i think colour must be a stim for me too, especially my favourite colour, green. so my version of "dressing to impress" is to wear clothing where the colours are beautiful, or entirely green. but doesn't matter how hard i try, there is no pattern to whether the style actually matches (eg office look, uni look, etc.). will often try and memorise others' styles to copy, but it's so hard to remember as nothing seems very salient about their style anyway.
finally, my material preferences are thin wool or cotton. this is because of....the sound! the sound of nylon is very stressful, lol.
i also have clothing from high school... and middle school... i'm a very short person, i didn't grow much haha, until last year i still had stuff from primary (elementary) school too...
think am different from most others here because the texture is a reason, but not as big a reason compared with other things: temperature, colour and sound.
