Ya I hate that, too. They're rarely actually helpful anyway. I've had people who claimed they're trained in proper fitting and stuff, trying to convince me my feet should wear size 7 at most, when I could hardly squeeze into their size 8 shoes. Luckily I think I probably look poor or too odd because salespeople rarely try to help me. Nowadays I mostly buy stuff online anyway. If I buy something in a store it has to be on clearance. I'm very handy with alterations and have made beautiful outfits out of clearance pile stuff.

What I find annoying are those at the mall kiosks who try to push whatever they're selling on you. The worst one is for some lotion because they'll grab your hand if you're not careful. When I have to walk past one of those kiosks, I have my cellphone on my ear and I talk as if I'm having a conversation with someone, while my other hand is holding my purse.

Tell them that you have Asperger's Syndrome and that it's contagious.

Exactly! Though I have been trapped by feeling bad for them, especially at a small shop. I feel like they need the money. I am easily persuaded.

Does anyone else get angry when salespeople try to help you when you are shopping? I always shop with my headphones on- ie LEAVE ME ALONE- so I don't wanna have to tell these people "I'm just looking" or "I'm okay" or whatever. I find myself wanting to snap at them half the time!

I don't get angry; I get sort of rattled and weirded out and a little panicky. Sometimes, if I am having a really hard time dealing with things like salespeople, cashiers, etc., before I can even stop myself, I run them off by pretending to be a deaf signer or that I do not understand English. I don't do this to be deceitful; just to get the stranger out of my face before I get really rattled. I can almost always pull off the act, and then I don't have to end up getting freaked out and putting down my stuff and bolting out of the store, which is seriously embarrassing (and annoying, b/c I am there with a specific thing that I need to get- I do not shop for fun, that's for sure...)

Same here.

I tell salespeople to go away, and if they dont leave and let me browse in peace, i'll head on out of the store and make sure to tell them that i'll buy from their competitor instead.

I agree when I shop I just want to grab what I want and go and not be bothered to try this or add this to my meal or whatever it may be if I wanted it I would go up and get it. Ugh.

Even when I am working and I am one of the dreaded sales people lol we are supposed to offer our item of the month to all the customers and I dont like it happening to myself so why would I do it to anyone else. sigh.

I hardly ever go to the mall, and luckily in regular stores the sales people never approach me. If I saw one about to come up to me I would just duck into another aisle or something though.

I feel sometimes that I know what I want and where it is better than the salesperson knows.I hate being bothered by salespeople until I am ready to go and want to pay for it-then I want a salesperson to be at the cash register ready to take my money.

I hate sellers who don't know what they sell. I mean they can't give you any info, because they don't know. They can only give you something, tell it's the best and take money.

I hate when I go into the shop and salespeople treat me like I'd like to steal something - because I'm young and I don't look posh. When my Mum comes, they treat her like a queen - Maybe this, maybe that? We have some free samples for you...
