The sentimental classics are my favorites.

Although I hope to never hear another version of "Jingle Bells" or "We Wish You a Merry Christmas", ever again!

Have you stereostyled this Aunt Blabby?

I particularly favour the moody blues rather than the Driving home for xmas lark.

Christmas songs make everyone feel either cheerful or sad, if the song reminds them of Christmases they enjoyed as a child. It also puts you in that festive mood.

I want to feel like that, but having to work over Christmas like it's just any other week of the year does make Christmas less festive, and you feel like you miss out. That's what you get when working at a care home. :(

I want to love Christmas. I want to feel happy and festive at Christmas. I want to get up on Christmas morning and open my presents just like I always have done growing up. Having to set off out early on Christmas morning to work like it's just an ordinary day really makes me feel miserable. But when I tell most people how I feel, they just have that sh***y ''Christmas is for children'' attitude, and think that just because I'm a grown-up I have to not care. But I DO care. Christmas isn't for children. Christmas is what you make it. I have a big family and a boyfriend, and I want to be at home celebrating it with them.

Or...post your one and others? He brought out an orchestrated version which sounds audible to some extent but I would still prefer the old ones.. brings those old feelings back.

More festive music in one dime (:

^^^IMHO the orchestrated one that his greedy heirs approved is an abomination.

Agreed but, his voice is beautiful and this completes it.

The Royal Philharmonic sponsored it actually.

mee too  I have no objection at all to the orchestration but to the ham-handed engineering of it, is all- they mixed the orchestra in at least 6db too hot, it partially drowns out his voice in spots, especially on "if I can dream." the worst sin is to drown out The King :king:

Whenever I need to feel in touch with a loved one who’s passed, I calmly tune in to the replica
of his voice.
Long Live Maryland, Long live Elvis, Long live the King. (not many people have three cheers over here,
unless its her majesty), but some people are worth it.

This helps me to tune back in with the love he shared with the people all around him.

Another few I love mainly for the peace & quiet.

it makes me feel left out. I don't understand the type of Christmas cheer that most other people seem to inherently understand. it's not because I'm Jewish either. in fact Hanukkah is as depressing as Christmas for exactly the same reason.

it is at least for me, a psychological thing, it is a season where people at least are putting on a cheerier face, there is less gravity about the season. it's prettier what with the shiny glitzy lights and all. it is a friendlier time. one has to be willing to meet it halfway in order to get the benefits of it.

the amount of shiny, glitzy lights waste a lot of electricity. people buy s**t and people expect other people to buy s**t for them. "the fire is so delightful" is normally either gas or electric heating or a stand-in fire like a once a year prop because it makes it seem more cheery and traditional. Jesus shows up in crappy manufactured recreations of his crucifixion here and there, and people get offended when someone (aka me) desecrates said crappy manufactured idol, like I'm insulting their religion by insulting an insult of their religion. I don't understand this type of thing I guess :|

I like some Christmas songs, while others not so much and some I don't like at all, just like with any other type of music.
For the record, I'm an atheist.
