Hamster,

I'm half Italian too, but very fair skinned. I take after the German side of my family. However, I do tan well in the summertime. My back gets really dark, my arms get fairly dark, my face remains fairly pale, and my legs don't tan at all. My great grandfather on my father's (Italian) side was a redhead.

I'm half Middle Eastern and my skin is sort of olive-ish. Not exactly dark, but darker than that of most Lithuanian people. It has a different tone, sort of. I tan very quick too, especially given that I'm an outdoors type. So in the summer I turn brown easily.

Andy1976uk (may I call you Andy?), I and my mighty whiteness thank you!

9CatMom, I take after my Russian/English side, but the red hair I was born with (which turned blonde around age two or so) probably came from my Italian great-grandfather -- red hair, blue eyes -- as well as my Italian great-aunts, all redheads. Although i don't burn easily, I must sunbathe for a VERY long time before I get that initial burn before the tan can come up. And it's not all that dark a tan at that...I'm not fond of the sun, so I rarely do that.

Yes, I was going to mention that. I'm... I can't really say if I'm pale or not. I think I'm about normal.

Well, I'm a possible aspie and I have a cousin who is diagnosed HFA. We are both Black. I think that blows the whole pale skin theory away.

Very true. This is why I find Goth girls far more attractive than those identikit perma-tanned bimbos who seem to infest my hometown.

I'm sun allergic, so my skin is pale.

My skin is kind of pale, but that is from my own doing. I use a wide-spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen to prevent tanning.

Now I think the conversation has swayed in a way that relates to AS. I am not simply light skinned because I don't go out in the sun. I do! Everyone's skin type is different and contains a different pigmentation. Mine is just tanned enough not to look ghostly but that is how it will stay no matter what.

I like pale skinned girls too, and really don't like very skinny girls.
