No Dos or Donts to add, but I want to pass on the thanks of my owner who is a therapist by profession. I passed the link to this thread and he replied with thanks and that he finds it a good resource for him.

DON'T Tell me I need to make friends if I clearly express no interest in it.
DON'T tell me bullying or abuse is my fault
DON'T compare me to Temple Grandin
DON'T tell me I need to get out there and use me "talents" as an "inspiration"
DON'T get in my face and tell me I'm basically just a spoiled brat
DO some basic research on Asperger's and autism
Do listen to autistic adults

Don't respond to a question I ask by telling me a story about your life, unless you can explain specifically and ahead of time why you are telling me this. My current therapist does this a lot. He is nice and has good advice eventually, but I think he expects me to make connections on my own that I'm not always making sometimes.

Maybe he is on the spectrum as well?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If so, you'd think he'd understand the value of being direct.
I get that people love to story-tell, but why make it hard for me?
Why not just say what you mean?

I am the opposite of direct as I go off on lots and lots of tangents and forget what I was saying.
I know I am not very good at getting hints, so I may at times need telling in ways that are clear but not too harsh.
