Whether its morally right or not is something for another discussion, after all, this is the GADF, not the PPRF

However, pull a face in the mirror so you can see the teeth. See those sharp pointy ones? They're designed for tearing meat.

One has use acupuncture and allot of other methods think some have even tried the older one's, since it's proven to work in human's since we are animal's it's likely most of the stuff that work's on us work's on them...

Would not shock me if a farmer use’s the method of curing the cold and flu with a towel over the cow’s head in a bowl of hot herbal mix… Unless that's what hovis was saying or mean's the other way of herbal remedies like...

Garlic,
Onion & leeks,
Vitamin C fruits...
goldenseal

tone's of others...

It's not really logic Discussion on does veg make you more higher IQ as I know people on any diet don't really get effected by IQ too many variable’s that can effect ( IQ )...

/* // Noticed this at the bottom of the article..

But Dr Frankie Phillips, of the British Dietetic Association, said: "It is like the chicken and the egg. Do people become vegetarian because they have a very high IQ or is it just that they tend to be more aware of health issues?"

I was actually researching something totally different and came across this mind boggling information on Vegaterianism. I had never heard the part about B12 and the Indian diet, Vitamin A and DHA relating to ethnicity even. This is important for people to read regardless on which side of fence they are on.

I'm a vegetarian and have an above average IQ, but I really don't think the two are related.

I am a vegetarian with an above average IQ. I personally never related the two. I am a vegetarian because I watched a movie about slaughter houses, and decided I no longer wanted to contribute to that. If my IQ was 70, I would like to think I would have made the same choice. While I will never become a meat-eater again, I also do not believe meat-eaters are naturally stupid. Many people who eat meat are very intelligent people who happen to eat meat. In fact, the professor who showed me the video that made me want to be vegetarian is a brilliant expert in environmental ecology, and also a meat-eater.

I am not a vegetarian, and tend to the moderate and conservative side of the issues of the day. My sense is that high IQ types are (for better or worse) more liberal than the rest of the population, and I assume, perhaps incorrectly, that most vegetarians are liberals.

My IQ is between 120 to 135 and I am NO vegetarian.
The whole self-justification for not eating meat is silly, actually. Plants ARE living things, you are still a killer, just one of Flora, not Fauna.
LOL

Sincerely,
Matthew

Guys... don't bump six-year-old threads. Make a new one. Most people who are here now didn't read the thread six years ago, and those of us who were, don't remember something so long ago.

Among autistics (please excuse the generalization) its even more unlikely since the majority of vegetarians are that way because of an overdeveloped empathy that makes them feel sorry for animals that wouldnt exist if no one intended to eat them.

Erm hum, where you aware that autistic people are actually well known for having higher empathy/sympathy with/for animals? It may just be partly due to Temple Grandin, but I've seen it from a lot of other autistic people too. Quirky animal lovers tend to have some autistic traits.

Wow what an old thread, but I guess it's so old that it's renewable :?

They say my IQ is extremely high, and I'm a carnivore all the way. But let me be abundantly clear on one thing: I am 100% for animal rights, and I will not tolerate cruelty. But as a meat eater, I don't think it's cruel or wrong to humanely slaughter for the sole purpose of consumption of meat. I do think it's abominable to hunt for sport or for pelts, and I think that deliberately or carelessly hurting any animal or causing it to suffer in any way, is evil.

So the bottom line is that I believe it's wrong to hurt or kill any animal unless it's for the purpose of eating the meat, and even then, one MUST be humane and fair in the kill. I wish that carnivorous animals other than humans felt this way, but they don't, and they're not evil, so why should we be, when we're using our intelligence and implements in order to be humane in the act of procuring meat as food?

Charles

I'm not sure. Some sources say he was, others say he wasn't. And if you're using that as an example to imply vegetarians have flawed morals to dismiss vegetarianism, that's just not a sound argument.

I did not know the bloody thread was that old! LOL Should have checked the dates on the replies..
But what I said stands, there is no moral high ground. Plants are also living beings. If you are alive & an animal, you must eat other living things. PERIOD. There is no out or rule bending here. Meat or vegatable, its ALL alive.
Just thought you moral vegans should realize the flaw in your arguments.
And having yet another belly laugh at such silliness. :)
