How do you feel about people touching you?
I'm feeling a bit of a loner here, even for an autistic person. I can not stand being touched, people being in my private space (which is at least a meter or two in all directions), even if I allow it. I only do so and try to act normally so as to not offend others, but I am always left in a very poor mood afterwards and often have a raging headache.
I don't like hugs, pats on the shoulder, hand shakes, anything of the sort, even from people I'm comfortable with. It's the texture of the hands, the scents in the air, the surrounding sounds, the feel of the clothes against me, OH, it sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it now.
I'm guessing I'm a bit extreme, but even the last girl whom I fancied had a way of setting me off badly. I of course knew her, but being touched by her, even innocently felt like a fiery awfulness of something shoot through me. So hard to explain to her that I really did like her but, in my own way.
Boy, the confusion.
