Aspiegenius - Computer Repair Service

We are now offering a computer repair service from our new workshop at Beccles.

We offer software and hardware repair services such as virus removal, Windows reinstallation, transferring of apps and data, hard drive and memory replacing/upgrading, secure data erasing and some types of data recovery. Please contact us with details of the problem to see if we can help.

There is no charge for examinations and estimates.

Our hourly repair rate is £25. All parts are charged at cost price plus any handling fees we have to pay; for example, postage and packing. If you wish us to order a part but carry out the repair yourself there is a handling fee of £5 in addition to the cost(s) for the parts.

Job Vacancy: Personal Support Workers

Due to the rapidly expanding new personal support service within Asperger East Anglia, we are seeking Personal Support Workers to provide 1-2-1 support for adults with Asperger syndrome.

Location: Norwich and North Norfolk

Part time and relief positions available.

Christmas and New Year at The A Shop

The A Shop closes for the Christmas break at 5pm on Saturday 19th December and re-opens at 9.30am on Monday 4th January.

All of our other departments, both at Beccles and Norwich, including the book store and workshops close a day earlier at 5pm on Friday 18th December.

Advance notice: AutismCon 2016, 5th March, London

National Autistic Society have released preliminary information about the coming year’s autism convention, or AutismCon; this is a public meeting modeled on cosplay / sci-fi conventions but is about autism, rather than Batman or Star Wars.

One of our autistic staff members attended the first one (in a private capacity) and reported that while there were the expected teething problems for a “first of its kind”, they felt it was worth going overall and highly recommended.

Saturdays for January and February 2016

Happy new year to you all! Our child and family groups start again for the new year, as detailed below. PLEASE NOTE the Lowestoft group change of venue: Gunton Estate Community Hall.

Beccles: Jan 16, Jan 30, Feb 14 & Feb 28 at Beccles Public Hall, Smallgate, Beccles, NR34 9AD.

Lowestoft: Jan 9, Jan 23, Feb 7 & Feb 21 at Gunton Estate Community Hall, Hollingsworth Road, Lowestoft, NR32 4AY.

These groups offer a wide range of fun activities available for children with Asperger Syndrome and their families, plus the opportunity to receive advice for educational issues and parent support.

Can you help us collect EDP Community Chest tokens?

Dear Supporters, Norfolk Community Foundation and the Eastern Daily Press have announced the EDP Community Chest.

In January there is a total of £15,000 on offer and amounts from £250 to £2,500 will be available monthly through the whole year.

Not-for-profit groups, such as Asperger East Anglia, in the EDP circulation area of Norfolk, North Suffolk and east Cambridgeshire are able to enter and bid for this funding but they need to collect 500 tokens which will be printed daily in the Eastern Daily Press.

Please help us collect tokens so that we can bid, and ask your friends and family too. And please let us know, so that we have some idea of how many we might get. Any funding we bid for and win goes to helping people affected by Asperger Syndrome.

From Monday February 8th to Friday February 12th, we will be holding a week-long jumble sale at our A Shop in Beccles.

There will be bric-a-brac, clothes, children's toys, electronics and books.

There's sure to be a bargain for everyone so come along and grab one.

Fish & Chip Quiz Night at Stalham Town Hall

Capron & Helliwell are hosting a Fish & Chip Quiz Night in aid of Asperger East Anglia, Friday 15th April 2016, 7.30pm, Stalham Town Hall.

Teams are a maximum of 6 people and tickets cost £7.50 per person including fish/2 sausages and chips; tea and coffee are available.

PAT TESTING SERVICE:
Do you have electrical items that require PAT testing?

Perhaps you are selling them on or need them tested for use in your business. If so, we can do that for you here at our Beccles electrical / computer workshop. Our rates are reasonable at £2 per item and parts (such as replacement fuses/plugs) are only charged at cost, plus we offer a bulk discount on more than 20 items.

LAPTOP COMPUTERS WANTED!
We are urgently seeking donations of laptop computers for our shop stock. If you have laptop computers that you are thinking of upgrading and do not wish to keep the old ones, please consider donating them to us.

If they are not in 100% working order, that's fine as we can repair all but the most serious faults and can also break dead laptops for spare parts.

We can also repair computers, so if you have any that you would keep if they were repairable, please contact us with your requirements as we can usually fix them; we charge £25ph for repairs and parts are only charged at cost; please contact [email protected] or call in at the A Shop.
