We aren’t some other species, and we are not inferior or superior to the majority of people. By definition, autism is a disability. How is this superior, if we are a disabled minority? The argument is unfounded. Just because some autistic people have better functioning capabilities or special talents doesn’t mean that they represent the whole of the minority. It’s the same for people without autism as well. Some are specially skilled or gifted, but most aren’t. The whole “NT’s are the enemy and all of them suck” argument is something that I am also getting tired of seeing on this forum as well.
We don’t even know where the line is between “neurotypical” and “neuroatypical.” Is a person with major depression, a learning disability, or OCD neurotypical? By definition, they do not have typically functioning brains, but you can’t say that they are neuroatypical because then half of the “neurotypical” population would actually be “neuroatypical.”
Just because someone does or doesn’t have a neurological disorder doesn’t mean that they are superior, inferior, or less human. People on this forum need to stop seeing all people as bad. Because people can be bad regardless of their neurology, race, gender, religion, sexuality, personality, or anything else. Most people are not bad.
