strange phobias
i can identify with some of the fears here. i also can't stand closed shower curtains, i systematically open them...i have the memory of being unable to catch my breath while puking as a kid, so i'm terrified of it. We lived on a boat for quite some time and my parents'greatest moment of fun was to throw a life line in the water and throw us after it so we'd catch it as it passed us by. Yes in deep sea. I will not willingly go sailing ever again.
strangely, i loved plane trips as a child, and now it's getting to the point where every trip is scarier than the one before. i think my mind links it to statistics somehow.
spiders: if i see one, i will not rest until it's dead, but i first circle it screaming all kinds of insults at it to gather the courage to go near it to actually kill it they seem so smart and creepy.....(i live in the country and our spiders just randomly cross your living room walking on the ground like human beings. they never climb the walls or stay in corners like normal spiders. such entitlement ...b***es....)
adults in costumes: as a kid i was totally freaked out by that. Now i know they only go after little kids , but if they came to me i would be very rude i think.
i relate to the feeling of lying under a starry sky and feeling sucked out of the planet, but i actually enjoy the feeling, a bit like a scary ride at the fun fair.
my biggest real phobia these days i think is the ringing of my doorbell....i go into panick mode.
edit: i forgot elevators. and ( not a real phobia but...) that weird feeling at the bottom of an escalator when you don't know when to step on it and feel everybody is watching. i tend to jump on escalators, at the age of 32, always did that, probably always will lol....
