PayPal can be setup to pay via a checking account maybe a savings, not sure. However with PayPal you should be aware of the scam e-mails. Just visit http://www.paypal.com and check it out. Certain stipulations exist if you are in certain countries.

I will ask again, how can I pay without having a credit card?

Not sure if I've a useful answer, but you don't need a credit card. If you've a bank account you can write out a check & mail it to the address listed for Alex in the "support WP" section. That skips the uncertainty/insecurity (in my opinion) of paying through some online system. If no bank acct. one could buy a money order at the post office (or grocery store customer service desk) and send that. I didn't have a bank acct. for most of my life & was used to finding ways around the usual way of doing things.

I see nothing wrong with someone making money on this site however I am curious about this one thing. Have you considered filing for a not-for-profit status?

Maybe it's already paid for?

I would strongly caution people not to donate until WP has a proper, elected board of governance that is directly responsible to the members.

As someone who has donated in the past, I was very upset to read about how money was being spent on publicity agents. And now there has been a suggestion that money will be spent to hire lawyers to take libel action against another web site. I sincerely hope that this does not happen.

Establishing a proper board will also help with non-profit status, so that money donated can be used directly and accountably to help build this site in to a resource for members.

what about proposing special features for the members who donate>....like special options in the forum? .....this may attract more donators .....unless if they want to stay anonymous ...well...
