i agree with Bec. it isn't a sign of intelligence or otherwise, it's a difference of comedic taste, basically. suggesting that people are more or less intelligent in this context is insulting - no need for it.

anyway, we're talking about a very narrow "slice" of society here. there are plenty of people around who aren't like that. and a group of late teens/early twenty-somethings is not going to representative of the population as a whole, now, is it?
