As someone who is of mixed race, I will agree that whites tend to be more accepting of people on the spectrum, Asians tend to think of it as a shame on the family.

Something I noticed among myself: as I became more open to European culture, my Aspie "traits" became more greatly expressed. I think certain cultures tend to bring out stereotyped aspie behaviors more than others. Also, no matter how much I proclaimed I was autistic, my black friends refused to believe it. They wrote it off as: having an old soul, not being sure of my place etc. Blacks tend to be more accepting of developmental disorders as long as you stick with blacks and act black. Once you begin to do "white" things is when you have a problem... at least among certain blacks who look dis-favorably on such behaviors. Blacks are uncomfortable with an individual changing -crabs in a barrel, if you would. Being focused on one or many topics, like I am, tends to change your perspective of the world. Also, it makes some blacks uncomfortable because they see you as "leaving them behind".
