There is no evidence at all to support any apocalyptic 2012 predictions or prophesies.

Show's over ... nothing more to see here ... move along ...

The end of time or even the end of the world doesn't mean the end of us. It's more like moving from an old crappy house into a brand new one designed to your dream specifications.

The difference is that we're redoing the whole thing, so the tearing down of the old and the building of the new happen simultaneously. In our conscious external world we're tearing things down (entropy) but the very act of tearing things down on this side builds something in our new world on the other side of the veil of consciousness.

I have caught glimpses of the hidden world we're building and it is beyond awe inspiring. The first glimpse I saw of it over 10 years ago restored my faith in the Human race forever... "We did that!" The first glimpse you get is the most powerful emotional experience you'll ever have. You'll see it again, but no time will ever be as moving as the first time you see what the human race (your own posse) is truly capable of.

We're close, how close I can't really say but 2012 certainly wouldn't be a bad guesstimate.

Well I think we're not going to die in 2012. Well, maybe we will, but it won't be Mayan related.

Considering the fact that people have been predicting ''the end of all things'' for ever, (The year 1000, 2000, 1995, and many old ones too) why should we believe it this time around?

Personally, *I* prophesise we'll die in full-scale nuclear war in 2028. But that's just me. (I had a rather amusing discussion about how aspies would rebuild the world after the fall of mankind......)

You'll know it when you see it. And then you'll be sorry you mocked the chosen ones :)

Argghgh, ok. The Mayans did NOT predict the end of the world in 2012; the predicted the end of this cycle, because it's the end of the 26,000 year age.

I thought they couldn't continue with the calendar because of colonization...

I'm just playing devil's advocate here, but did anyone ever stop to think that maybe the Mayans just ran out of ways to count past that point?

More than likely this isn't the case, but as long as we're throwing insane theories out, we might as well give it a little consideration.

People need prophesies of doom for the same reason they need to hate someone, anyone even if they have to make up a reason.

Its necessary to maintain their psychological stability.

Of course a lot of aspies are exempt from that but still its perfectly normal.

Debating whether or not the prophesy will come true is pointless as its mere existence is all that is required.

The reason the calendar ends at that date is that the bloke broke the end off his chisel, and then the Spaniards showed up ....
