Not to mention someone who is experiencing difficulty in real life is more vulnerable and emotionally isolated. They can form an unhealthy attachment to this sort of thing and develop these complexes that affect their personalities and they themselves can become a**hole/douchebags.
Plus, they can become addicted to this and seek out "negative attention" thus getting caught up in endless endevouring to seek out negative attention.
It can get worse, leading to depression, unhealthy relationships, vulnerable to predatory people who prey on them. It IS a harsh world!
