Scored a 7.

I think this test is inconclusive. It seems to question ones judgment/morals for a hypothetical situation.

Such as:

Fairly normal: Bob politely excuses himself to go to the washroom.
Rather strange: Bob says "yo guys, I gotta go drop a loaf."
Very eccentric: Bob uses poetry and a foreign accent to explain he needs to go to the washroom.
Shocking: Bob drops his trousers and defecates on the living room carpet.

I think we all can agree on those. Anybody could throw together a test like this.

7. I didn't find any of that to be particularly hard. Unlike those theory of mind stories at least this is clearly written enough that the key difficulty here isn't following who did what with all the confusing pronoun switches and poor grammar - so in that area the guy gets a kudos. Although the fact that so many people with AS are scoring as NTs might indicate that those stories aren't quite hitting social interactions complex enough to be able to catch the entire spectrum.

Looking at the stats on it, autistic people in general are scoring in a way that averages into the NT range. That's.. weird.

I'm getting frustrated. This test doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

First of all:

* A - Fairly normal behaviour in that situation
* B - Rather strange behaviour in that situation
* C - Very eccentric behaviour in that situation
* D - Shocking behaviour in that situation

What does D mean? Is committing a D worse than committing a C? I felt that this was a logical conclusion and yet I found a lot of the behavior I would rate as shocking but I would not rate it as eccentric or strange.

But what does that matter? I'm supposed to be rating what OTHER people think. And do people think it strange to break store rules like foot wearing and 12 items over 10? How am I supposed to know? I think they would not find it strange or shocking but I hope a bit disturbing, but there isn't even an option for that. I would personally find it shocking and it makes me want to put shocking for lack of a more appropriate answer.

I'm not taking this quiz without lots of clarification.

I got 15.

Okay what is normal? Define normal. Normal is the majority so things people do that lot of people would do is normal rather it's strange or not. So I kept answering normal. I answered strange if it's something lot of people wouldn't do and I answered shocking when I wasn't expecting it. But apparently I didn't follow the test because it said to rate what I think others would think. I shall take it again.

Is this a disguised theory of mind test? It's hard to overwrite my own initial reactions when trying to answer the questions.

10 and I'm confused and not sure what this means. Is this high? Low?

Results Dewey Story Test
for score: 10
This is not indicative for problems with social interpretation. These results may not be mistaken for a sound and definitive diagnosis. That requires the judgment of a qualified diagnostic.

"not indicative for problems with social interpretation", and yet it's right around the average score for autistic people. .....yeah. Something's up with that test. The people with the highest average score were people diagnosed with autistic disorder, if I remember right, and their average was 11, which I think is still within the "normal" range from the responses I'm hearing.
