Bliss expressed in sound.

Nice! It's funny, I still have the huge stoplists for a couple hypothetical organs I "designed" as a kid. I actually still think my favorite stop of all might be the old German style Rohrflote. Such a happy, innocent tone, with the nice strong chiff. :)

I haven't been totally obsessed anymore for a long time, particularly since my overwhelming obsession with choral music and conducting has completely taken over my life and career. But I still have a massive collection of organ CDs that I do occasionally listen to, and I still relish a good recital when I can get to one.

I just thought of a unique organ website I stumbled upon not too long ago. If you have never seen it before, you would thoroughly enjoy it: http://www.die-orgelseite.de/kurioses_e.htm

 Yep, I'd agree with that, and especially for the chiff. A nice Dutch Prestant 8' too - so warm and sweet but not too pushy. Some English equivalents are either too string-like or too near an Octave-style voicing. And there are so many others, each with their own unique personality.
I'm sure it will come as no surprise that I designed 'ideal' stoplists too.

Ooh interesting, and I'd not seen it - although I still prefer the basic North German style in looks and voice. They got it just right.
Here's my current favourite which I play with regularly, and it's what I had in mind with my choice of stops at the start.
If you've not come across it, the 'Hauptwerk' software is astonishingly good, as are the samples available for it. How else could I play a 1720 Schnitger at home?
Vollenhove organ, NL.

I don't remember all of mine, but what I do remember is reading the same stories over and over. I also spent hours in my bedroom with a bucket full of water drowning action men. The only time I would touch a Barbie is doll was when I was disfiguring it or cutting its hair 8O
I had a collection of teddy bears too.

I used to decapitate my Barbie dolls, strip them naked and then tear off their limbs!............I must have seemed like a little serial killer in the making. I think I was just bored.............as I didn't want to play with the dolls my mom had bought for me at the time (I played with dolls later on...as a preteen  )

I do remember being very obsessive from a young age and remember my obsessions / special interests, some of which I still pursue!

haha I disliked barbie dolls and couldn't understand why other girls played with them so much, it was very alien to me. I received one for christmas once and cut off all its hair, cut the head off, pierced several holes in its body and filled it with water, watching it pour out from all the holes. Then I pulled the legs and arms off. Is this an Aspie thing or what?

Enid Blyton- I still read them now when I feel a bit out of it. I must have read all the Malory Towers series about 30 times over by now! I used to read Sweet Valley Twins and BSC books again and again.
Mainly it was the Holocaust and Anne Frank, the 60s and The Beatles. Also guinea pigs. I used to talk about them over and over again, or if I was excited say the word again and again while jumping up and down.

Catching butterflies, reading about insects and wanting to be an astronaut. As a child I'd imagine myself as the first person to go to Mars...to the degree that I'd wake up frightened and in panic upon having a dream that I wasn't. The unfortunate thing is that my parents never thought anything was wrong.

It's only been recently that I've realized that I have problems with daydreaming, obsessions, etc.

to this day i hold an intense obsession with Naruto, and i can remember having similar obsessions when i was younger, some being as simple as TV shows and others being as wierd as an obsession with watching deer crossing signs on road trips.

Wow, I forgot that I was also into the paranormal as a kid! Maybe that was an intro to my future special interests :) I checked out every book I could find on ghosts, demons, spirits, monsters etc. from my elementary school library. Then I moved on to the adult section of my local library.

I still find it fascinating. It certainly was the main reason I got into The X-Files.

Yeah it is really interesting. I've heard other Aspies who like stuff like that but I differ from it from most though 'cause I really believe in it. I actually believe that my conditions are due to that this is my first life as a human.
