I've been the same weight pretty much since high school. I'm 33 now. I will say that the proportion of fat to muscle does fluctuate quite a bit. My BMI normally is in the 19-20 range though (low/normal BMI).

I was really skinny when I was a kid though. My mom used to get calls from the school because they were worried I wasn't getting enough food at home. That wasn't the problem though. I was obsessed with food. I ate everything. I used to even sneak loaves of bread into my bedroom at night to snack on. It was never enough though.

As an adult both my hunger and my size normalized nicely.

It's normal when you get older you fill out. A lot of kids are skinny because they are always growing up instead of out.

Yes, I had do a lot of growing to get to my lofty height of 5'4"

I'm sort of joking and sort of not. I was always the shortest kid in my year until I entered high school. Now I'm, once again, a little on the short side, but basically average height.

Now that I cook my own food I can pick a healthy weight and maintain it pretty easily.

I'm 5'11" 137 lbs. Barely normal BMI, most of my life I was underweight. My arms are really skinny. It doesn't matter how much I workout or how many calories I consume, I don't really gain any weight.

I was very skinny as a teen & kid due to being a very picky eater who couldn't get the food he wanted. People were worried I would die because of how much I refused to eat due to not liking it. My mom HATED having to cook special meals for me & I cant really cook due to disabilities so I would usually eat one meal a day & pig out on it if there was enough to. I started eating 3 meals a day after I moved in with my girlfriend cuz she cooks & cuz of meds & suppldments I'm on. I also started binging on snacks so I gained alot of weight over the last few years. Me exercising less is some of it too thou. Now my docs are on my back about how I need to lose weight.

If the stereotype is that Aspies are either very thin or very heavy, I must be NT-shaped. I’m what many people would call “not skinny,” not quite chubby but almost. I eat a lot, but I’m very active—food is a thing for me, and I know that when I learn not to eat so much I might have to sit around a little more so I don’t lose 40 pounds and end up too skinny.

growing up, i was chronically underweight, 6'3" @ 130#. i stayed that way until i got out of the army, and having put on some muscle, went up to about 170# where i remained until i turned into my 40s, since then my weight has fluctuated between 180# and 240#. presently @ 200#. would like to get back to 180# but the odds of that shrink [ironically] by the day, it seems.

Ziprasidone, the mood stabilizer I'm on, has caused me to gain something like 15-25 pounds, I'm not exactly sure how much. I think it's interacted w/my now middle-aged body. I still have perhaps vain hopes of staying on this medication b/c it helps me, but losing all that weight. My not exercising obviously has contributed too.

there is truth to the statement, "you are what you eat." if i ate what i wanted i'd outweigh orson welles. so i must stick with a restrictive diet in order to avoid obesity.

My weight has always been a constant battle.

I was a chubby kid, and I’m a chubby adult.

I eat chocolate to maintain my hourglass figure. In moderation, though, I'm just finishing up the really good stuff I bought last Christmas. 108lbs on the scale tonight.

Do you believe autism caused you to be like that or family genetics?

I'm really surprised there is barely any research on autism and metabolism because I am 100 percent certain autism affects metabolism.

were that the case, what causes it to go to the extremes of skinny and obese, rather than one or the other?

I was a string bean as a kid. But that was pretty typical for the kids on my dad's side of the family, I was just more exaggerated because I was tall. I filled out in puberty and have been over my healthy BMI before but it wasn't drastic.

I've largely been average, hitting somewhere in my BMI range. I've put on a little weight, mostly in my rear(why?!?!) because I'm not as active as I was a year to a year and a half ago, but I'm still in my range. I will fluctuate like 10 pounds throughout a day.
