well thats nice if some one likes some one like you
I'd find it hard to believe any one could like me and if they did I'd think less of them
Don't like me .
Reminds me of a quote by Groucho Marx. "I would never join a club that would have the likes of me as a member." I suspect I have the same problem. Anyone who would like me, I start to doubt their sanity.
Well, I would think that for both of you if anyone liked you it would be because you have elements that are working for you despite the fact that you cannot see them. We very often do not see ourselves the way that others see us.

Yeah you are really shooting yourself in the foot there aussiebloke.
I've been told I would love NYC, actually. If only the US would let me work there!
Oh and to answer the OP, so I'm a proper contributor to this thread, I would prefer to date those who are borderline AS or just over the line.
Even after you get work clearance, you have to compete against the best in the world regardless of what field you're in. It's hard to strike a work/life balance, and NY leans heavily toward work. I actually try to get *out* semi-regularly.
I love the neighborhood I live in, but the price of a house here is on the borderline between insane and surreal. I think when the recession lifts the median will leave 7 digits behind and enter the realm of 8.
The pizza is really good though.
I thought Melbourne house prices were bad bad that's ridiculous! (And I think we can compare the two currencies at the moment.) We have good pizza here too I reckon! It's settled then. You can move to Melbourne. Most liveable city. Top 3 anyway.
No work clearance

You are very kind. I would shamelessly throw myself at you if you weren't already taken.

Um no offense but I don't think that means anything #1 is Geneva Switzerland lovely city though overfed bureaucrats and Arabs in gold plated Hummers ruins the effect.
Having said this I think Melbourne is Australias only interesting city , if I wasn't so settled I'd happily live their (don't bother with Sydney ) it makes NY look reasonable .

Well that the problem with Australia theirs nowhere 'cheap" you can live 1 hours train ride from a capital city in a tiny asbestos laden home on a tiny block and you'll still pay a minimum of 400K ++++ (Sydney particularly so)
Theirs no excuse for it greed, stupidity something.
I'd much prefer to be in Switzerland 1 hr from the capital Bern, in the 'watch valley" in a huge 200 year old farmhouse on acreages and still pocket 50-100k.
You may not see the insanely high prices that you see in some parts of the usa conversely you wont see those low prices!

If I were to move to Europe or Australia I'd have a difficult time making much more than half what I do though.
Thanks I'm glad you agree , I think that thats case in many parts of Europe you go out in to the *rural* areas and you can get some fantastic buys. And since the public transport is so good
So are you saying you cant buy a rubbish tiny home in NY that's 1 hours train ride from the CBD ?
1 hour by train I assume about 30-40 miles away ??

I haven't so much as knowingly met an aspie IRL, and I don't have much dating experience, so I can only go theoretical on this one.
I think I could go one of two ways:
- an NT with high emotional intelligence and the patience to deal with my lack of it. I can work at it, but I'll still be an aspie.
- an aspie that complements me. Depending on the person, I could see a relationship with an aspie being either amazing or incredibly frustrating. It really depends on how severe it is and what particular characteristics are most prominent. For example, I couldn't do frequent meltdowns. Even if the anger isn't directed at me, I still feel as if it's my fault. I'd also feel confined by someone who really needs a consistent routine. I definitely need stability too, but I'd get bored.

Correct, a standalone house 1 hour from Manhattan tends to run mid to upper 6 digits, not 400.
OTOH there are locations that are accessible by commuter rail in 1 hour from Grand Central Station that are really quite far from the city. Those are cheaper.
Did anyone not see that movie uh..Mozart and the whale. Granted she seemed more manic depressive than someone with AS. I loved that film. That man tried so hard! She was so difficult!
You fall in love with who you fall in love with. I'm sure there be a lot of difficulties with two aspies together just like two "nts" just like one nt and one aspie. I think maybe The two aspies could have more issues together, depending on how they are affected by their difficulties. And Just because I really do believe opposites attract. So two aspies opposite would probably work well
I'm a complete opposite of my boyfriend
well I wont be going to your city.
Real estate is the thing that's really the most overpriced. I paid about the same for a lot of other things in Toronto. I'm spoiled as an American though.
Nice thing about living in Toronto though is I could make all my large purchases in the US and drive them up. Can't really do that in AUS.
