You lot may not get punched much but in Glasgow its all part of a night out. A few drinks, off to a club, get in a fight, go get some food, and home.

Oddly I do get in hit a fair bit, and its not because I like fighting, because I don't. I've noticed my instinct for self-preservation has diminished.

Eva longoria without makeup - not attractive
Kelly clarkson without makeup - not attractive
Tyra Banks without makeup - very un-attractive
Mischa Barton from The OC - very very Very VERY Ugly

and when you see them on stage, they look very attractive, makeup does wonders. And as already mentioned, personality plays a big part of being attractive, and to me, it's more important.

^^ yep, took the words right outta my mouth on that one. Guys will look at me, but when they find out how eccentric and quirky I am they tend to take a few steps back. Not to mention that I have MASSIVE problems reading body language when it comes to the opposite sex. So I'm nearly 21 and no boyfriend yet :D ... :cry:

Yes personality does play a big part in being attractive for me too. I would like to know though (not from you personally computerlove as you didn't suggest this in the first place) how someone came to think that people with Asperger's tend to be unattractive? Where did this crappy pearl of wisdom come from? Research? Because am I correct in thinking that there are more NT's out there, therefore, there is more chance in more of them being ugly? I've seen quite a few people on this site that are very attractive, and guess what? They are aspies funnily enough. I don't consider myself to be ugly (I'm not drop dead gorgeous either but that's besides the point) and I think I have a great personality. And do you know what? I have difficulties in society sometimes. Does this suddenly make me ugly? Don't think so.

billiscool is basically a troll. I don't know if it was because he felt he didn't fit in, or what, but he kept trying to accentuate the negative. From the pictures I saw, many here appeared to be attractive. Considering the relative IQs etc probably represented, I would say that breaks that stereotype.

BTW a lot of people equate beauty with stupidity. I guess that is because some women ARE dumb enough to think men don't want them to be smart, etc.... Frankly, I would place intelligence above everything else. OK, maybe I would settle for someone even a little below average, but if she was ditsy, FORGET IT! Frankly, I wouldn't mind if she had an IQ of 170! If she was much over that, maybe she wouldn't want me. 8-(

Erm... that was meant to be a compliment. Well, not a compliment but a humorous observation, as in that you're attractive so something really must be scaring them off... anyway...

I think the one who said that AS people tend to be unattractive has WAY too much free time...

there's a saying, I hope it translates well to english: "leisure (idle), devil's office".

P.S.: hmm... I re-read my previous message and think that it sounded a little bit harsh. All I wanted to say was: Personality > being attractive.

I think the assumption originally was stupid, but HEY, it IS nice to know who you are talking to, and that looks and brains aren't polar opposites. Ironically, people with the right environment and nutrition growing up should have a better chance(Genetics still plays a part) of looking nicer, and being smarter, but there are enough cases where that isn't true that people formed a stereotype.

It WOULD be nice if it was just pictures, and blurbs, but, like everything else, it denigrates into rationalizations and other messages.

I wasn't flaming. gee, I wasn't even fully agreeing with you. I was poking fun at what you said and said that, although you had a case, there was a purpose for the thread. You didn't refer to a particular post or anything, but the whole thread.

By thread, I mean the first post: the thread topic. I don't like threads on here that make broad, unfair generalizations about people (with AS or without). The topic is saying something negative and hurtful about women. That kind of talk is unnecessary here, I think you can agree.
