Well, I'm glad we've managed to sort that out in a civilised manner, TheMachine1. A pity certain other people couldn't make an effort in that regard.

I voted Yes,because it shouldn't really be in the
General Autism forum, particularly as there are
Foreign Language and Random Discussion forums.
In the General area I'm afraid it just looks like spam !
Maybe a note saying it had been moved would be a
compromise.

BTW I've nothing against Russia, one of my work
colleagues is Russian and I'm interested in the country
and language. I'm sure it's a nice song

ascan, you're a weasel. A weasel and a troll. Why don't you just insult me directly instead of in this backhanded and unprovoked manner? You're an embarrassment to Britons and Aspies everywhere, weasel. Pathetic cowardly weasel.

Andy you know you sound like your been snobbish on too much sugar lol, I would say you are Andy... In all the things you have said about other languages, and things that you said to Ro...

You know if you want people to except not to treat you like an outcast first you must stop treating others, I value anyone who posts in another language as I can just hit the translate button and be in English, You could of just avoided the language that is not in English if your too lazy, 50% of the traffic is from other countries language it is mandatory to have a translator and I know people have been saying it isn't that's just been lazy...

He should not have to put the Russian song into English, as he wanted to put across the Russian song, I think he had a Mp3 they too did not check that but if it was in russian a person could learn the song and words...

I find it interesting how the mods seem to disagree with you there, by locking this thread in the first place. Interesting how a few people were critical of him posting in Russian without a translation and in totally the wrong place. Do you notice the post above by CockneyRebel? Well guess what, she's a moderator!! !! !! I would have gladly listened to the song and read the translated lyrics if he'd done that from the very beginning like the rules stipulate, but by the time he woke up and took everyone's advice I was totally alienated by him. I mean, it should be obvious that you include a translation.

As for those Internet translators they can barely handle Spanish or French so I can just imagine how they'd cope with Russian to English. Actually I don't need to imagine, I know, thanks to all the spam I get from Russian women on dating sites who are apparently "admiring my structure" (meaning my profile).

Anyway, hasn't this topic been done to death logitech? You're entitled to your opinion, but I am quite frankly very very VERY bored with this topic now. Directly and indirectly it's eaten several hours of my life.

What did you mean by "outcast"? It's interesting how no-one seems to know this ascan character and say it'd suck if I was kicked off because of this.

I truly think this discussion has generated more heat than light.

I think a few lessons can be harvested from this thread:

1) Don't feed trolls.

2) Read the rules before you post somewhere for the first time.

3) Make sure your thread is going in the right place.

4) Try not to overlook obvious things, for example, providing an English translation if you're going to post something written in another language to a mainly English-language website....or at a very minimum provide a link to a translation service.

5) If you feel you're unduly being attacked or the rules are being broken, take your concern to a mod.

6) Think about what you're saying before you post and the effect it might have on it's readers as well as other ramifications. Is anyone likely to be offended? Don't flamebait.

Perhaps the forum could be changed so that every new member is forced to read the rules before posting for the very first time. I have to confess that I never read the "read first" thread, I'm guessing I'm not the only one. Maybe somekind of "report this" link or button could be provided too. Perhaps a link to a translation service could be helpful....

your thread title was changed because the title broke the front page layout due to wrongplanet software limiations.

There is a separate forum for russian. You should have posted it there. We wouldn't have locked it if you had posted it there to begin with and it wouldn't have broken the front page either.

next time if you have a question about your thread being locked, PM a moderator instead of creating a flame thread. You've caused a public controversy when a simple PM to me would have given you all the info you needed to repost your thread in the appropriate forum.
