WHY?

'cause we live in a highly imperfect world whose majority of occupants have this delusion that perfection is the only good thing and is much more commonly thought to exist than in fact does exist.

I think, I will just wear my fins, my Fjällräven shirt and a coral necklace today.

Nothing in the autism diagnosis that says one can not be a fashionista. As mentioned sensory sensitivities will limit some options.

As for me it is very casual. But I will conform and dress up for a formal affair or work

"if nudity were perfectly legal and accepted, how many here would wear their birthday suits in public?"

Every day. I discovered years ago it was simply easier to be nude at home. We do not have to worry about itchy fabric and temperature becomes less of an issue.

Seriously though, my wife has it so bad she can barley stand to ware anything. Even the most smooth of fabrics feel like burlap to her.

my main thing is I get hot easily [had heatstroke while in army] so I regulate my body temperature better sans clothing.

When I'm at home (the air conditioning is down to 65 degrees in the summer) I wear a T-shirt and shorts. I don't think this is an Aspie look. It's just comfie. Probably I just look like a kid at the gym.

Sigh... sometimes I wonder about the wisdom of a household with two people with Apsergers.... not often but sometimes... between her touch/fabric issues and my intolerance to bright light and high temperatures (anything above 70 degrees F really) we have a hard time keeping the house comfortable but what can you do. I still love her more than anyone else in the world.

the degree that each of you tries their best to accommodate the other with forebearance is the degree of your devotion. I suspect almost nobody could put up with me in person.

Not to sound sappy but all we can do is our best. Were in the process of moving to a cooler climate, mostly at my urging, so we shall see. Can't be any worse than living in the damn desert!

Sadly no. After being exiled to New Mexico for eight years we are heading back home to the east coast, moving to New England, although WA was a secondary choice.

NM sounds like an interesting [if hot] place. very artsy. lived on the east coast [just outside DC] for 3 years, it was too intense for me.

Heh, I'm from the DC area and can relate to that completely! New Mexico has its good points and we are going to miss certain things about the state but the heat is terrible, the food is boring after a while, and you come to miss your own kinda people, even if all you get to see of them is what you can see at a coffee shop. The job situation is always iffey too but you do have a lot of opportunities to go around outside in the nude so it can't be all That bad right..?
