Yeah, I feel there just might be something to that. I've heard, many-a-time, that people felt their mom, or their dad, or someone, was watching-out, for them----'course, it could just be something that someone says to help them, "cope", expedite their grief, or whatever----but, who's to say?

But, we still have a lot of growing to do before that happens. We are barely out of the tribal mindset and the idea of Oneness (one planet, one people) is hardly a dot on the horizon.

Yep, one of my all-time favorite quotes (I've collected them, all-of-my-life), is:

“What we know, is a drop----what we don’t know, is an ocean.” (Sir Isaac Newton)

And after that? One Consciousness connecting everything/everyone in the Universe (which pretty much would explain Everything). Personally, I'm doubtful that humans will evolve that far. But that's just my opinion.

You know..... I'VE done some thinking along those lines, as WELL. I have one, sort-of, theory that..... Well, maybe we're not SUPPOSE TO evolve "that far"----at least, maybe, not just yet.....

I have another, "sort-of theory"----but, it involves the Book of Revelation, and maybe I shouldn't put that in print, just yet----I mean, we've already had ONE poster's head explode, seemingly----maybe it's just a little too "out there"......

my mom is heavily into this stuff of spirituality, hocus pocus mumbo jumbo and whole day night she is deeply engrossed into it to the extend of ignoring family

i was heavily into occult stuff like tarot, astrology, spiritual healing i still read about it throughout most of the day

i believe in angels and prayers, meditation. i have been guided by angels and spiritual helpers many times.
they have done impossible things for me, opened invisible doors for me and saved my life quiet many times.

i think if you believe it really works

but u dont need a con artist guru to take you there....just call upon ur guides and angels and they will help you

It's probably not weird, but it is unscientific. Scientific hypothesis are developed based either on i) other research or ii) verifiable observations.

Nobody funds scientific research on spirits because you can't produce data to support ii)

I like your quote from Newton.

As to your thought that maybe we should not evolve that far; while that may be true, to evolve may be the only way to save our species (not that it necessarily deserves to be saved). Perhaps a human/machine hybrid could work in the interim..not a pretty thought but it might allow humans to play catch-up. Just my opinion.

And yes, I agree, while I would love to hear your theory based on the Book of Revelation, it may just rattle too many cages at this time. :)

Sorry to hear that your mom studies these things so much that she ignores your family. A person must try to live a life of balance. This was a hard lesson for me to learn since I have special interests that take up a lot of my time. But, I gave up one really important interest because it was on my mind night and day. Now I can use that time with my family. It may not be balanced but it is closer. :)

i think when we dont have constructive things to do we idle time in special interest and get addicted to them...its not easy to get away from them also.

we really need to work on balancing our life....and well being around my mom doesnt help at all.
i think she needs a assertive person to bring out of this addiction

When Einstein said:

"I didn't arrive at my understanding of the fundermental laws of the universe through my rational mind." The world started to wake up to the fact that science was deeply mysterious and that the mystical and contemplative dimensions of all traditions are in no way incompatible with science. They are in fact the most beautiful of dancing partners on the journey to ultimate reality.

With respect to belief systems, it is my experience that they can not only just hold us together they can also hold us to ransom.

I have the deepest of respect for contemplative paths and fully and wholeheartedly embrace the perennial philosophy. However, the new age movement has little to offer me with respect to accompanying me personally on my journey. Though I never stand in the way nor insult or mock anything that gives another meaning. Consequently I am always deeply saddened when I see here on this forum people disrespecting people's deeply held convictions.

what type of rational thinking it is to run away from home at a young age, beg on streets, talk some strange ideas about invincible GOD and mythology
go into trance and then call yourself a Godman.

works in India well

There's a good attitude in India which is "live and let live"...tolerance of difference. Here in the west everyone are clones programmed to wear the same type of clothes, live the same lifestyle and think in the same way. Even those who are "alternative" tend to have middle class roots

Same here, majority of people in western countries believe an old bearded man constructed the earth in 7 days and occasionally punishes humans with plagues and famine and sent his son to earth through a virgin birth on the same day as the Roman god Saturn...the Indian godmen are in good company...

They're not in good company because they're on earth. There's a big difference between a mythological God and a human claiming to be a God.

Jesus was flesh and blood...last time I checked...
