Like I said, "white" is a "race," not an ethnicity.

Only white supremacist types think "white" is an ethnicity.

If you talk to an Italian. They don't call themselves "white." They call themselves "Italian." They take pride in being "Italian."

My point is that the historic purpose of classifying Americans as white was to create an unequal society so why is this persisting?

I believe it's mostly done for convenience. I don't think there's a sinister motive in this case.

I hope the day comes when a person is a person, and that the "race" doesn't matter.

Yes but it unpacks historic problems and perpetuates them.

I believe the word is Caucasian.

It is Caucasian....but very few of us have recent ancestors from the Caucasus.....though the Indo-Europeans just might have originated there.

I think you will find that more of the social science and government work classifies the racial/ethnic category as White, non-hispanic.

To be fair we have to take into account that we are only getting the OP's side of things. Second hand information that is perhaps run through his filter, self-consiousness, anxiety, paranoia.

However, what he is saying reasonable, NT girls are experts on how to push buttons and he sounds vulnerable enough to be tortured the way he described.

I am not arguing that the OP didn't experience trauma at the hands of his ex. Quite the opposite! I am suggesting perhaps more of it is her fault (and less of it the fault of politics and feminist philosophy at large) than the OP originally suggests. Of course all info is expressed from the OP's point of view, but even by the OP's description I am seeing no clear evidence that this isn't just the work of just one terrible person gossiping and spreading BS to her friends. I don't see a connection to a larger political movement.

the languages in the caucasus are (ironically) non-Indo European
Some idiot visited the caucasus mountain 500 years ago and wrote how beautiful the people were in the mountains so the term became "viral" to describe caucasian features

Just like how Native Americans were called Indians because when Christopher Columbus discovered this land, he thought he was in India.

Something like that.

A perfect example of idiots going viral were the first Australian settlers in Australia who asked aboriginal people what these animals were hopping everywhere

Image

The local aboriginal people replied in their tongue "buddy, I don't know what you are saying"
When you translate into their language they said "kangaroo"
So the settlers spread it around - these animals are kangaroos

Unless you're Kelvin Garrah - be careful what you wish for.

A lot of what people call 'Woke' is just 'not being a dick to LGBT people'.

To me, and old dude, 'woke' is synonymous with 'virtue-signaller'. 8O

Who's the old dude?

KT67 seems to have a problem with older people.
I am one of the aged.
I think you qualify, also.

I dare respect older people* & not want to date them...

You go on, and on about it.
I wouldn't date you either.
It works both ways.

And yes, I know you aren't into males unless they are young and cute.

Here's the thing with me.

And a lot of other autistic people.

If you drag something up, they reply.

Especially if you accuse them of bigotry where none exists.

Such a thing as defending oneself. Maybe you'd be better off with NTs if you want to perpetuate banter. Not an autistic person you know has social anxiety & is afraid to be seen as a horrible person & dropped by half the site.

Drop it.

That's the problem after all of making WP woke. There needs to be room for mistakes.

When it comes to older people in my actual life (including middle aged people) and bigotry/woke stuff... I give a free pass to people to make mistakes which would have been common in their youth. There's no excuse for someone growing up nowadays/who's my age to be transphobic. If someone is slow to grasp it, that's different to someone who deliberately seeks out alt-right s**t or deliberately goes round offending people.

And there is nothing wrong with being woke. Being woke just means being tolerant of minorities and being anti racist and being in favor of letting them have the same rights as straight cis male whites. Not being so ignorant of racism and oppression they face.

Exactly.

The only criticism I have is online where people go seeking out bogeymen where there aren't any. This problem seems exclusive to twitter - I'm 'very online' and I don't come across this on other sites. It's why Natalie Wynn ought to drop twitter & go on her Reddit sub more often.
