All of my obsessions fall under the umbrella of anime. Some anime I've enjoyed more than others. My most powerful anime obsession has been Hellsing.

Hmm, my *most* obsessive obsessions?

Survivalism (also includes various doomsday theories, both realistic and otherwise)
Ireland
the hollow earth theory
The Sims
the paranormal
skin care / acne
Mary Pickford

My most recent, though, is reading every single review of various skin care products. Comparing and contrasting, as though I could actually use any of it..? I have no idea. I've spent the past week or so doing this, for like 10 hours every day. I should stop.

My most powerful obsession is the one on pregnancy and little babies.
More specifically it is about becoming preganant. This desire is SO strong, it is causing me physical symptoms. The desire is s o strong, it wears me out mentally, and I have been hospitalised for it twice.

But that is the worst.

My regular obsessions are:
Star Wars- particularly Darth Maul
Transformers-particularly the Seekers
Obesity
Aspergers and Autism

My old obsessions were:
Star Trek
Duke Nukem
Doom
and Joust.

I got worms when I was little because I played in sandboxes, played with bugs, played with all kinds of stuff and never washed my hands before sucking my fingers.

In the past,
The paranormal
Eastern Philosophy
Crafts and Carpentry
Music

Since last September, all I think about is AS. It dominates my thoughts day and night.

I used to think about AS all the time, too. Not so much anymore, though, once I got used to the idea of it. It was a relief more than anything, as there was a 'name' for what was going on with me.

I thought your response about the paranormal was interesting. A neighbor taught me how to read Tarot cards when I was fifteen, so that led to a life-long fascination with the paranormal as well. I watched ghost-hunter shows with some regularity until I realized a lot of it was faked. I've seen too many strange things in my lifethat can't be logically explained to simply write it off, though. I've actually been on a ghost hunt - the most fun part of it being the use of the EMF detectors and other ghostly gadgetry. Didn't catch a ghost, though, LOL.

My other obsessions are:

The weather, tornadoes and hurricanes in particular, as well as severe thunderstorms
Writing fiction and non-fiction (I vow to publish a novel before I die)
Photography

pretty boring list, I admit.

As a child:
*Dinosaurs
*Snakes and lizards
*Drawing (I made up a comic called "The Happy Snake")
*Books (funny, I became a writer when I grew up!)

Post-childhood (in no particular order):
*Vintage film, especially American silent cinema and pre-code sound pics
*Hard rock and heavy metal music (my long time boyfriend is a guitarist, no surprise)
*Exercise and fitness
*Cats (sort of a lifelong thing)
*Building websites
*HTML and CSS coding (although now I pay people to do the dirty work when I'm creating a new site)
*Mysticism
*Carlos Castaneda and shamanism
*Astrology (in the 1980s, I even learned how to build charts - no computers!)
*the stock market (I don't do too badly at it, either - which belies the idea that Aspies have a hard time taking care of themselves financially)
*Money in general (I'm rather clingy with it)
*Cooking (too bad that didn't last - made it easier to eat healthy)
*Alcoholism (I've been seriously involved with more than one addict, although I myself am not one)
*Marketing and studying wealth-building
*Erin Hunter's Warriors series (better than Harry Potter in MY world!)
*Especially and always - writing! Keep in mind that I have written about most of the above at one point or another.

That's a lot, but keep in mind that this is over a 20+ year period of time.

-J.
