Are you familiar with the story of Joseph, in the Bible. The coat of many colors?
there is a lesson from his story which also applies.
Basically, he was special. His brothers were jealous so they sold him into slavery.
As a slave he was faithful in his duties.
He caught the eye of the leader of the land. because of his faith in the small things. Taking pride in his circumstances.
Soon he worked his way up in society. remaining ever faithful to the task at hand.
Eventually, he became leader of the land. Second only to the king.
And during a time when most of the land was stricken by famine, his land did not fall victim. Because even as leader he did not lose faith in his elevated tasks. Paying attention to detail, and remaining faithful in his duties, his land and people were prepared.
One day, his brothers, starving from famine, came to ask the king for help. They had no idea that it was their brother, Joseph, who was to represent the king.
Joseph recognized them, of course. And in his customary style he acted with faith. He did not do to them what they had done to him. He welcomed them with humility, and with open arms.
The moral of the story is:
IF YOU ARE FAITHFUL WITH LITTLE, THEN YOU WILL BE FAITHFUL WITH MUCH.
