I used to think I was spiritually evolved from the race of people who inhabited Atlantis, or possibly Lemuria. I read in a book that Atlantians, and also Lemurians, feel lost and like they don´t belong here when they reincarnate. So I thought, that must be it.....

I was obsessed with science. Read all the science books at the public library. Also sat on the floor and built things out of blocks all day everyday. Was really easy on the parents, grandparents, and all other babysitters.

Insects

I loved to play outside and catch insects all day. Id cage them up and see how they interacted with each other....my favorite to watch was Bees vs Praying Mantis. the praying mantis always won by snatching the bees out of the air quickly. id keep it as long as I could catch bees to feed it then id let it go

Haha, that was me too! The dream child! Well - if they knew what it was all about, they wouldn't have been that happy.

Yes, exactly, who knows. No one can say for sure how that kind of things are.

I did that a lot too but we didnt have Mantis. I'd get bees and bumblebees in a jar and then put a bunch of army ants in there to see if they'd fight. But they never fought. Sometimes they'd bump into each other.

At some point I decided to start crygenically freezing large ants (well, in the freezer anyway) to see how long they could stay in there and still recover unharmed. It doesnt take long before they get wonky and stop working right.

I definitely (fondly) remember my childhood obsessions  .

Preschool-Kindergarten: Every puzzle in the children's section of our public library. I had to do them all. Additionally, I would not leave our sandbox. It was my home away from home. I loved the sensation of dry sand sifting through my open fingers. Ballet.

Elementary School: The Black Plague and the Loch Ness Monster. I read and re-read every book I could find on the topics. I also loved horses and figure skating. I was constantly drawing horses. My wardrobe consisted of two t-shirts... one with a giant ice skate on it and the other showcased the bust of a Clydesdale.

Middle School: Science.

High School: Skateboards. I loved to take them apart, clean each piece individually, and then put them back together.

College: Bicycles (taking the place of skateboards), Neuroscience, Biology, Charles Darwin, psychology and anatomy.

Apparently, I was a dream child too; would sit in my playpen for hours, just entertaining myself, didn´t cry. And when I was slightly older, I was so rule bound (when I knew what the rules were), that I was easy in that sense too, I guess.

I used to entertain myself by catching insects, then putting them in spider´s webs, just to watch what the spider did with them. I was quite fascinated by this.

I used to be obsessed about meteorology when I was 7 years old. I learnt the Beaufort wind scale off by heart when I was that age too.

Then I got obsessed about computer programming at age 10.

I was always obsessed with maths though.
