give me a break.
L.A. is mostly full of ordinary people, just like everywhere else.
most of the negativity directed toward the people here is from people who do not live here.

BUT there is amazing culture here. Downtown LA is a must see. Tons of history and food. The architecture is amazing all over LA, Pasadena. Go to the Getty and the LACMA. Be careful in Venice a lot of gangs. But tons of food and shopping, the famous muscle beach walk around and see the art and freaks, art. You don't say what you like to do or interests so it's guessing. The Cat & Fiddle in Hollywood is a nice bar restaurant to socialize at night especially on a summer night. Open in and outdoor fireplace seating, great atmosphere, live music.
Pick up the LA weekly and see whats going on there.
Have fun. The locals, like myself, who were born here are really cool!
Ha, I love our natives. They know what's up.
I'd add hiking in Angeles Forest (spec Eaton Canyon or Angeles Crest), Cinespia in the summer (movie and a picnic at the hollywood forever cemetery), check the Egyptian Theater showings, the Hollywood Bowl if you can make a show that you'd like. Orochon Ramen in Downtown LA has the best, biggest ramen bowls ever. Philippe's near Dodger stadium is the home of the original French dip sandwich (just don't show up wearing a Giant's cap- our town is colorful, not perfect)
