I have some far-back Hungarian ancestors. The others look like Slavics.

My dad is Swiss and my mom is Norwegian. After doing a little research, I have found out that I have Italian and Croatian ancestry as well.

I'm a bastardization of a dozen European groups, like all other white people-
what's more, ethnic groups simply do not exist, genetically.

I'm adopted so I don't know about percentages but I am part English, German, French, & Native American on my birthmother's side. I don't know much about my birthfather, but I have heard stories that he was part Irish.

Funny thing is before I ever knew anything about my parentage, I had enrolled in French & German, & I have a soft spot in my heart for all things Irish. To a lesser extent, I have also been interested in British history as well. Can't say for sure if it's genetic or strictly a coincidence. Either way, it's pretty odd.

Scientific literature can't find evidence that autism is more prevalent in specific ethnic groups.
I think , however, socio-demographics may skew the representation of people of European stock on WP. I have read that the cost of diagnosis means that ethnic communities represented in poorer socio-demographic groups may choose not to diagnose their children.

I don't really care/know enough to debate this topic (hence why I said "I'm just positing"), but a quick google search gave me this: http://www.reuters.com/article/2009/12/ ... 0T20091229

This study was done on children living in similar socio-economic environments.

Inherit merit topic

English and Irish.

I am surprised at the number of members here who claim Roma/Sinti descent. How did you find out?

it was in our oral family history, then verified by a family member who traveled back to eastern europe to meet other descendants.

It's hard to know for sure since people moved around a lot and invaded so I am going to say European with maybe a tiny bit of tatar or something like that.

This could help you quantify your genetic inheritance
https://genographic.nationalgeographic. ... ipate.html

That looks awesome except that
1. It costs a hundred bucks
2. It only covers the maternal genetic inheritance if you are a woman, which I am. It only covers the mitochondrial DNA which is only half the picture unless you have a Y chromosome, which I do not :)

It's my father's side of the family that I am the most curious about. Plus, this test goes back 10,000 years and that was so long ago. Seems so distant and not that accurate.
It charts migratory patterns that existed 10,000 years ago, from what I understand. I should get a more thorough reading for a hundred bucks

There are more? I'd be surprised too. :-) Though I made a friend online several years ago who is half Sinti, and I thought that was why we got on so well. Turns out, she is ASD too.

For me, it's not a matter of uncovering it. That's all there is.

I've wanted to do one of those tests, but yeah, I can't justify the cost.
