Do you get annoyed with people's 'eating noises'?

I hate loud eaters and those who chew with their mouths open. If I want to listen to something eat loudly, I will hang around with my dog while he is eating.

People eating loudly or with their mouths open don't bother me. But when my sister eats she chomps her teeth together every time she chews. Even though her mouth is closed i hear the loud sound of her teeth clashing together. Beeing it porrage or a sandwich or just a fruit. It drives me crazy...
She is fortunately the only person i know who does this.

I hate it, even when the mouth is closed I can still hear then noise. It's so frustrating.

It doesn't bother me. This thread reminds me of my little brother who used to get bothered by eating noises. The worst thing he hated was when my brother and I would eat our cereal and he expected us to chew it quietly and mom would tell him cereal is loud food. He used to move away from us.

People who let their silverware hit their teeth .. ick!

Yes, I hate it.

But the worst is people sucking on cough drops/hard candy.
I was in a long car ride with my grandma next to me, when she decides to start sucking on a cough drop. I wanted to smash my head through the window to get away from it.

This is one of my major pet hates. I'm on the bandwagon of insisting if my family want to eat dinner with me (which I avoid, as they see this as an opportunity to ask me questions and pry into my personal life which I detest) that we watch TV or listen to music. I can't stand the disgusting noises people make when they eat or drink. Even the stupid dog doing it creeps me off.

Sometimes it even bothers me when I hear MYSELf moving food around in my mouth. But, it isn't all the time and not with everyone. However, when it is happening, it is MADDENING! Like not being able to hear anything else in a room because you can hear someone pushing a food bolus around with their tongue. Errrgg. And, I imagine the food breaking down and making with the saliva- eww. Used to really enjoy picturing the journey of a bite of food through the human body... but sans soundtrack.

I hate hearing people eating. It drives me mad. Or people chewing chewing gum. I even hate seeing people chewing when I can't hear them. People eating in general does my head in

I have been lurking here for a while with no intention of posting but this is just too much. I was using this forum for information while I investigate how to get an official diagnosis for whatever I am and I have found an eerie similarity to a lot of the posts. Some responses are word for word what I would have written but the eating thing has shocked me into posting. I hate eating noises! The sound of chewing can send me into a near homicidal rage. The knowledge that there are other people, regardless of the underlying reason, who are equally bothered by eating sounds has made my day.

The sounds of people eating make me mildly sick to my stomach.

It's just a little aggravation, really.

Eating noises make me feel physically violent. I can't explain why.
To stop myself flying off the handle I have to make my own noise to focus on, such as banging my fist on the table or making a low humming sound. Though, of course, whoever I'm eating with finds this annoying. Which is why I avoid eating with people in the first place.

Yes, oh my god, yes, I get so annoyed by eating noises. I hate eating with other people and I hate eating in total silence. I even hate the sound of it in my own mouth.

Only really annoys me when the person eating is obviously not making any effort to eat quietly. As if it sounds like some sort of clapped out suction pump splurting and stuttering beside me. Mandatory tube feeding could solve this problem.
