Are You Female And Get Constant Unwelcomed Stalkers?
What is an obvious rethink?
Before I leave that with too little information, I am going to take a guess.
Is it......talking to the person after turning them down?

As has been said, if it was a man doing the same thing he would be seen as a right dodgy swine. Women should not be treated any differently - after all, this is meant to be age of equality, right? Or do double standards still rule?
I disagree. I hope I am assuming correctly and this is a reply to my post.
If my interest at that time had done the same thing, I would have been flattered. Elated, even. Had someone else looked at my schedule, I wouldn't mind so long as no harm came to me. I did share my schedule information with several students that year. I think it's important to examine the situation itself before exploring any possible sexist undertones. How did the person behave? Was the attention wanted? etc. In my opinion, what I did was technically wrong, but not much worse than knowing when someone you have a relationship with gets off work and walking by to have a talk together. We liked to see each other. My intentions weren't sinister. I made sure the attention was wanted. I did my best to get this guy's attention so that I could date someone for once. I had to try very hard and be more assertive than I ever have.
Tequila, you have taken my situation of innocent highschool crush, and twisted it, using it as a launching pad to make more posts about sexism.
SeaBright,
2. the domestic hog, Sus scrofa.
3. a coarse, gross, or brutishly sensual person.
4. a contemptible person.
You're mean
What did I do to deserve this name-calling.
No GOOMBA!
I was referring to the girl who treated the guy badly when he tried to apologize.
I don't think what you did was right, but as I stated before, it did turn out alright.
I don't think you would have stalked someone if you were making them uncomfortable.

No, that's turning them down, talking to them and taking them up on their offer later on.
at what point does this taking them up on their offer later on occur. Is it.....
when he asks her our AGAIN?

Ok, I'm sorry. I misunderstood
goomba-somewhere wires got crossed. even I thought he was talking about the other girl. I didn't realize until he started talking about accessing personal information-and even then I didn't relate it back to your story, but to being able to lookup peoples information in general such as at publicdata.com and such--which I do by the way.

Christ, do you have to be quite so literal?
She turns him down (or vice versa). They talk. Eventually the wooed takes the wooer up on the offer without any coercion, stalking or any other forceful measures. Is that clear enough for you?
Yes......
No........
what offer? you mean he asks her again?
so.....his asking again is directly linked to her speaking to him after telling him no to 'dating'. so.....she shouldn't even talk to any guy who has asked her out even if it makes sense to because they are sharing a faculty, work school ect, without running the risk of......the dreaded ongoing off topic dating conversation. so....a guy who asks a girl out will always have the same thing on his mind after.......))))))))))NO((((((((((
I think I understand now. Thankyou you have been very helpful in this department.
Hey, if two people want to hook up that way I don't give a spit. though I think it is a lot of hassle and odd behavior.
But, if that is how things tend to work, it may be the missing key in my defense. I don't like the subsequent game that follows no. It never occurred to me that it tends to follow no matter what. Here I thought they just wern't 'getting it'.
Too bad.

I have never heard of an anti slash coat-how terrifying
Spray is an awesome idea-providing he doesn't shoot as he see's her grabbing for it.
Though if this is successful, disarming techniques are helpful.
Sometimes they say run. Sometimes they say give in.
Personally-I don't see sense in getting shot in the back or run down.
A tactful play would be in order...
Play weak, let him see that you are no harm and will give in to not get hurt. Then make sure he never walks again-right before he sticks it to yah.
Of course...this could end in death.
But that is certainly what's at stake in the rape department-aids.

So what is the appropriate response when chased or harrassed by a drunk street person. This is a constant problem in my town. One guy was chasing me across parking lot in the dark. He didn't ask for money like they usually do he just started chasing after me. I tried to yell leave me alone, but I was winded and the words came out sounding weak. He started laughing and said "Is that the best you can do?". A man saw me and came over and told him to leave me alone so I got away while the drunk was distracted. Now if I had tasered the drunk or pepper sprayed him without him physically assaulting me first I would have probably been arrested. (Several victims in town have been jailed for defending themselves.)
So what is a person to do when followed by a drunk in a dark empty parking lot? I am seriously considering walking into stores when I have to shop at night with the cane I got when I broke my leg a few years back.
No one has commented on my first post early on in thread. So I am wondering if my posts are invisible or does no one else think the guy that called my employer & told the receptionist crazy things about me, called me at home and found out where I worked and where I went to exercise was a stalker? I certainly felt stalked. This was a complete stranger and married with kids to boot.
I am just trying to respond to everyone's comments and answer their questions. I post something, and four or five people respond, then I post replies, and by the time I've posted my last reply, someone's already replied to my first one, it's a never-ending cycle.
Huh???? Do you mean I don't post enough in that forum (which I have in fact done quite a bit) or that I don't date enough?
I don't think MOST of them do--in fact I find most of the girls on WP to be quite calm and collected. It seems that stalker threads attract those who've had negative experiences with guys though. Maybe this thread really belongs in the women's forum--though in that case I couldn't really post in it.
By the way, you sound like you have a chip on your shoulder about people taking illegal drugs and otherwise trying to get high.
BioStructure is on a Stalker thread telling a woman she is at fault for being stalked by her ex meanwhile probing for advice to get a date.
Lemmie know if it's working
I am trying to give these women suggestion on how to handle the situation better, I'm not saying that guys' behavior is their fault. I am basing my advice on how girls/women could best communicate to me that my behavior was bothering them. This in fact actually happened once to me years ago. I pursued a girl who clearly enjoyed talking to me (she in fact was into science and had some AS tendencies--very different from the kind of girl I'm seeking now), and it took her a while to catch on to the fact that I wasn't just interested in her as a friend. When this idea"hit" her, she just started inexplicably ignoring me. After I had tried to talk to her for a long time to find out what was going on, the situation eventually "blew up" and she got mad because she obviously felt like I had been stalking her all along.

No worries
I used to take TaeKwonDo lessons and my teacher said to project confidence and strength when you find yourself in a potentially threatening situation. I think a perceived weakness in another person can attract certain people.
(hypothetical situation) So if a bunch of strong-looking men are grouped together, and you're walking by them with your groceries, try your best to appear strong and able. You could make yourself appear bigger than you really are, by holding the groceries out at your sides, your arms extended outward slightly. In nature, some animals will "puff" out, making them appear larger than they really are. They're trying to prevent being attacked.
Oh, and before I'm accused of being a sexist, playing up double standards, writing up sexist situations and whatnot... If it was a bunch of amazonian-like women grouped together, I'd be just as nervous.
