Neitzsche meant that we should all strive to be ever self improving "uber men". Be all that you can be.....in the Ar ar ar meeee.....!

But the Nazis twisted the concept into the idea of the "Aryan Superman" (ie the racial superiority of the German race).

And to add to the confusion the word "Aryan" doesn't even mean "German". It means "Indo-Iranian". Its a long story how and why Hitler latched on to the word.

One tip is to try to find things that you can enjoy about other people that enable you to ignore the stupidity. However, it is unfortunately true that, if you are highly intelligent, the average person is mind-numbingly stupid and boring. It does not help that most people are intellectually lazy and do not even try to use the limited intelligence they have to become more knowledgeable or interesting.

Thanks for the quick intro to Neitzshe , that's all I need to know , philosophy isn't my cup of tea.

Yep , that's me , I so intellectually lazy I don't even choose what I remember , my limited intelligence makes me remember absolutely useless trivial facts which I think gives the illusion of being more intelligent than I am.

It's important to know philosophy---so you are not duped by somebody like Hitler.

what is "interesting" to one person is boring to another person.

likewise, different people crave different amounts of excitement.

some people crave more excitement than others.

what one person finds boring, someone else might find it meets Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

what one person finds as fun, someone else might find like it's :ninja: adrenal fatigue.

higher intelligence does not necessarily make someone objectively more "interesting" than someone with lower intelligence.

there is more than one method to define and measure intelligence.

theory of multiple intelligence

the IQ test allegedly measures intellgence. but the IQ test does not perfectly measure all forms of intelligence.

being "interesting" is not necessarily a good thing.

one precious lil "person" had the nerve to tell me my haircut was "interesting", just b/c she did not like it.

it was like, wtf?

since when was she so awesome and important that she had a moral right to only interact with people whose haircuts she liked?

she said "interesting", like she was trying to be nice. but, nice or not, she was still judgmental.

I stopped reading this thread with care a few pages back, not long after someone assumed I'd tangled with airport security. Knowing that I have always used humour to reduce tension in social situations whenever possible, I don't feel safe enough to go there now. The last time I did call the Police, I was being evicted without a shred of legality, but the landlady still got them on her side.

in 2007, San Diego, went to an orientation for the role of 911 dispatcher. the proctor said that there were only 4 correct reasons to call 911. every other reason was a prank call, subject to a then 500 dollar fine. getting "evicted without a shred of legality" was not one of the 4 reasons.

but, different states and different years have different laws.

in 2004, i was on a month to month lease. the landlord was supposed to gimmie 30 days notice to move out. but she only gave me 15 days notice move out. which was so inconvenient. literally like getting the rug swept out from under you. and school was starting soon too. went to 15 different apartments and finanly someone took me.

civil lawsuits sometimes take 2 years of getting subpoenaed to court. and some lawyers charge 500 dollars per billable hour.

and the party with the moral high road is not guaranteed to win.

especially when the other party has a more expensive lawyer.

just thinking about it makes me wanna puke.

precious lil "people" act all buddy/buddy and "we care about you". and. and a partridge in a pear tree.

nobody cares about me.

if i do something they do not like it's like (gasp). they make a big hairy deal.

FWIW I also assumed that , maybe the confusion arose because you said 'our'
