low functioning vs high functioning
The problem is, when someone says I walk funny, I feel like I walk even funnier as I try not to walk funny if that makes sense, as it is then on my mind!

That makes sense. The more aware I'm walking funny , the more I try not to, the worse it is .
It's horrible isn't it! Where you start to manually walk! Every step you think about how to do it!

I still remember my mom yelling at me for not walking in a straight line she thought it was on purpose, i would try as soon as she mentioned it, and she would get mad as i wasnt still and she thought i was 'not trying hard enough;
or her yelling at me 'if you want to be a victim, fine" when i couldn't fold the sheets properly (kept trying) last year.
i told her, i just do it this way its easier, and she was like 'no this way is faster and more efficient' and i couldnt keep up so she began SCREAMING at me.
these are two minor examples, there are way worse ones like my dad shouting at me and wrenching me from the porch when i was sitting outsdie at night (something like a shutdown but just frozen) and he was convinced i had 'gone crazy' and began trying to beat it out of me when i started shouting (only to talk above his and my moms voices as they were shouting) 'i was just wanting to be alone i wasnt doing anything'
that convinced them i was crazy (keeping in mind he was pulling my hair and throwing me on the ground and shouting) that i had shouted. what was i suppsoed to do? talk in a normal voice and not be heard?
then examples of other people bullies and such (canada only, different schools) punching me and kicking me for no reason.
i was doing n othing, just exactly what the teacher had asked us to do, and they would be hissing 'get a life' 'go shop for a new personality, you don't have one' 'who walks like that?' 'go kill tyourself'
'die already' etc.
keeping in mind i was doing nothing but quietly standing/sitting/reading/whatever it was the teacher had asked us to do (e.g. fire drill, everyone standing outside) or at recess
other examples.. could go on.
ASD of any kind is never accepted unless you're someone like Anthony Hopkins with a great IQ and talent that can compensate, and contribute something that NTs value.

that's why i hate that Carrie film, it's what NTs THINK a neurodiverse person is like, what they THINk is their motivation/reason for being weird, and would they THiNK we would do if pushed (by them, mind) , like some kind of monster.
i guess it makes them feel better for actually being monsters and giving in to their bullying tendencies, to watch films like that and think, see, bad at socializing, quiet people tht we bully really are evil inside, just as we suspected!
in reality that Carrie girl would just grow up, be pushed around by everyone, maybe get educated maybe not, work a middling job or low-level, mind her own business and often (probably daily) be pushed down by the same type of people she grew up with.

When you mentioned staying standing or sitting etc (Whatever you were told to do), it brings back memories of a few years ago when on our narrow country road we had not long started out when we saw two police motorbikes ahead of a posh black car. One quickly drove forwards and signalled for me to pull in and stop. Once I had done so, the car drove past and the motorbikes at the back then drove past, but no one then gave permission for me to go, so Mum and I just sat there in the car for something like half an hour or more puzzling if we should go or not as we did not want to dissobay the police. No one came to tell us it was ok to go. I was thinking that maybe we should just get out the car and walk back home until we know?
