Yes, past decades were definitely better than 2022 weren't they
Ya in some respects.I remember before 2000 we thought the future would better than the 90's but it turned out to be the opposite for me and a lot of people.I remember being so optimistic about the 21st century during the 90's that is if Y2k didnt get us first.I also miss the feel of the 80's because there was still a bit of a 80's atmosphere when I was really little. However things are much better now in my area in some ways than they were in the 90's.
I do remember being optimistic about the 21st century, it seemed to be the space age, great things were going to happen! But instead we seem to be going into Mad Max/Waterworld territory
All the dystopian sci fi series seem to be coming true instead of the optimistic ones...
I also remember being excited about the 21st Century. I thought there were going to be flying cars and geodesic domes all over the place. I thought that we were going to have all this great technology. I thought that I was going to be able to reach into a wall for a meal or a Slurpee.
I'd never thought I'd have my own laptop and Internet. I'm working class and unemployed and I have a laptop and I can afford Internet every month. I never thought that I would still be watching Hogan's Heroes now, when I was 12. I certainly never thought that I would be sitting in front of a screen communicating to all of you and I never thought that things would ever get better for the LGBTQ community.
