^ I agree, lack of fluids feels horrible.

Yeah, if I'm really engrossed in something, I can go the entire day without eating. And at bedtime I will eat in a mild frenzy.

I did that sometimes when my OCD was bad.

I forgot to eat lunch today because I was so busy working on my novel.

Until I was 39+, started unrepressing a c-ptsd inducing childhood and visited an endocrinologist I rarely perceived when I was hungry, thirsty or sleepy. It's weird feeling all of those things now and having to learn to manage them halfway through life. I've had to actually learn the signs of dehydration, like "oh, my eyes feel scratchy, my mouth is dry & I get dizzy when I stand - I must need to drink water". Same with eating & sleep.

I denied myself of an adequate amount of food for long enough that it's still hard to really tell when I'm hungry or when I'm full. but i do forget to eat when I'm into doing something, usually metalworking or general sculpture stuff, I can easily forget to eat for 9+ hrs

I often forget, even if I'm just watching telly. I pretty much always remember to have lunch but usually realise just before I go to bed or the next morning or at like 8-9pm that I've not had tea yet. I always remember to drink if I've got a bottle of water next to me, if I don't then I only realise when I get that I haven't drunk anything in awhile feeling.

I forget both to start eating and to stop.

Sometimes on cloudy days I forget to eat, or I don't eat as much.

That helped me, too. I keep a water bottle in my car & every time I get in it during the work week (so, 4x daily) it reminds me to consider if I might be thirsty. Usually I just drink half of it anyway, because I figure I should.

An addendum to my previous post.
I forget to eat until I get hungry.
My body then interprets that as an upset stomach, or mild food poisoning and tells me eating would be a bad idea.
From there food becomes less and less attractive until I'm ready to flake out.
I'll force feed myself and my guts may or may not act like that was the right thing to do.

I recently had a gastroscopy/colonoscopy due to a positive FOBT which proved me diverticular.
I have no idea if that contributes.
