Well, one place that I found helpful was the ARC. They can help you with things like this. You should stop by or give them a call.

This organization is not only for people with MR but with all Developmental Disabilities.Web Page Name

...Thank you , but what are these organizations' names ?
I don't have time to follow the links at length .
I am doing a somewhat " epic " posting - while my feet hurt , as my diabetes and pain pills were in the bag that was stolen - now .
I'll try SF General Hospital later .
Perhaps I've depended on them too much , but , I can't think of anywhere else I can go ( At least to get the pilss replaced , and , be " official " about it . ) , though they have been rude/brusque to me...

ASS-P,
I hope you have found help by now. If you haven't, then look at these suggestions:

Get a few sheets of paper and something to write with.
Re-evaluate and write down all your options.
Make a list of phone numbers, and note which order to make calls.
Ask a library clerk to help you print out this entire thread and if you don't have money for copies, say so and ask them to do it anyway please.
.....Tahitiii posted link for Disability Rights America on p.1
.....just-me posted HUD homeless links on p.2

*You could call churches, Salvation Army, ARC etc. for assistance?
*You could start hitch-hiking, and ask whoever stops to help you?

*If you need help from an agency, keep calling until they do something*

**There used to be a FREE CLINIC in Berkeley [across the Bay Bridge], do you know if it still exists? If you would get free medical in Berkeley, maybe you could hitch a ride and see if it's any easier to be homeless there?

Can you inquire---While in San Francisco, is there any way you can get your foot/bandages cleaned and changed somewhere other than the hospital, which was made payee of your checks?

Can you inquire---If there is Legal Aid [free] that would be able to help you in regards to the hospital being made payee of your checks? The reason they were able to do that is probably because they are collecting what is owed...I would also imagine their services are very expensive.

I hope you have money for phone calls and/or to make a sign. You may have to "panhandle" ...and with a sign would be best.

Have you considered tent cities? Is there one in Sacramento?

...Well , for one thing (pounduiing this out B4 library closes) , I have tended to think/have the internal censor telling me to do the " sensible " thing , and that it is not taking a bus to somewhere...
As of right NOW , I don't have the money ! !! !! !! !! !! I'd have to get it back first...It seems like most people here have wanted me to take a bus to somewhere , but there is the limited amount of money I have , no-one waiting for me anywhere  ...If a couple weeks' reasonable reast presented itself this coming wek maybe I'd take it , " going to Berkley to squat/be homeless on Telegraph Avenue " , with my feet now , I don't know...Plus , re: Berkley there's someone I have a weird distant (very) Web acqatance with , which provides an odd slidlight here...Gotta go :( !

ASS-P,
Where are you sleeping and how are you eating? Since your bag was recently stolen, it doesn't sound like you've found a satisfactory arrangement at all.

You desperately need to find a shelter or mission to stay and rest. For that you may need several hours on the phone, locating a facility. A roll of quarters if you can manage it. Or perhaps find a church and someone to help make the calls... One step at a time. First find the shelter. Then deal with transportation. Be sure to tell the shelter people about your health condition and requirement for medical assistance.

If you find a place willing to take you in, the universe will provide a way to get there. They may send someone to pick you up. Or make a sign: Need Money For Busfare, Anything Helps... Or you could try hitch-hiking. ..Once you find shelter, getting there will happen. Have faith about that.

Remember: ONE STEP AT A TIME

...Let me just this point out that this behind-my-back taking of the SSI/D happened in the last month or so !
Now , immediately , I have to get at the money . :(
Going off to Wyoming , Los Angeles , or even Berkely , won't , really , help this .
Also , I don't have the money to do it with .
It was Friday when this all started .
As far as business days go , that was yesterday .
I can't really hope to do ANYTHING until business hours Mon. :(
It may be possible that an immediate acceptable short-term place will present itself , as the SF Gen people claimed .
If so , I think I'd take it - If that happened , I quite doubt , then , that I could get 100% of the money from them .
Yes , I have thought of looking for legal help myslelf if I need to counter the SF Gen people's heisting of the SSI .
As for the SF Chron , they don't like homeless people very much  , BELIEVE ME :( , for one thing .
I

As several have said, due: You need help with your mind. You are just going in circles. Either learn to enjoy where you are at or find someone to help you think.

Does anybody want to read the (condensed) story of the theft of the money from me? I do think, with some luck & help, I could get it back, she has left certain "tracks"... It just need an E-mail address to send it to! The original amount is (potential lifetime total) fairly substantial, as per what a motive could be...
I would. I'll send you another PM. Did you know that you can cut & paste stuff to a WP post? If it's an incompatible program, you can paste it to "Notepad" to get rid of the codes & fancy formatting, then cut & paste it from "Notepad" to the post. I do it all the time. I almost never write directly to the post because my computer is so unpredictable. I've lost too many half-written rants that way.

I'm writing a longer PM, which I'll be posting in a few minutes.

What is not in ASS-P's wallet topic

Sounds like you have relinquished Power of Attorney, and somehow you must get it back. Good luck. I am glad you have a room.

I would like to read your story: [email protected] is my email address. A few pages ago someone mentioned HUD appts? Have you looked into that? 25 dollars a month seems managable. I hope everything works out for you.
