Anyone here like tyre swings or any other type of swings.
I would spend hours at a time on my tyre swing and spinning around on it time after time.

I made an identical thread a while ago:

Yes. I did not respond on the previous 'swings' thread because respondents gravitated towards considering traditional A-frame swings.

Tire swings in particular are among one of my earliest memories and was the first indicator I ever had that made me absolutely sure I was not like the other boys (my previous thoughts being that it must be because I was somehow raised differently). On traditional A-frames, I wouldn't swing so much as sit and spin around until the chain wound up and then pick up my feet and see how many times it would wind and unwind before snapping back to normal. Teachers did not like this and asked me to stop because they were worried I would kick little Billy Thompson beside me. Ah, Billy. Your cherubic face and red-laced sneakers hid the soul of a mean beast.

Oh, yes! Any swing, any kind. I had an A-frame swing that I would pump until it almost fell over, and when it wore out, my dad hung board and rope swings in the oak trees in front of our house and I used them every day until I was in my teens. I started to feel kind of silly about it when I noticed that none of the other teens I knew used them any more, so I started using the bench swing in the back yard -- not as much height or speed, but the motion was the same. I also enjoy spinning on tire swings. As an adult, I used to go down to the park in our subdivision after dark to use the swings, but stopped when someone came out on their porch and shouted at me to get off them because they were for the kids, not me. There were no kids there, but I was worried that they would eventually call the police if I kept coming back. I've pretty much forced myself to stop using them at all, but I still like the swing rides at amusement parks -- they're the only reason my daughter could ever induce me to go to one.

Regards,

Patricia
