it's been exactly 1 month since i last returned. lol. But anyway, that is unimportant. I have a problem. I don't really know how to get a job and I NEED one. I keep filling out the applications. I get job interviews, but I never go because I am not sure how to present myself once I am there. Also, there is the whole lack of eye contact thing. I have been told that they will not hire you if yu won't look at them because that seems untrustworthy. Advice??? Please?

I look at their chest or face but not their eyes or look at their hair or ears. Is that what fake eye contact is?

I also had my aunt help me pick out outfits to wear to my interviews so I knew what to wear when I get called for one. Make sure that you are clean thought and so are your clothes before you go.

I look at their teeth...when i look at their faces. I can look at faces when they are not looking but the whole looking at each other thing is hard. so...teeth it is.

If it's really that bad, tell them right out that you have AS. AS is legally considered a disability.

I look at the middle of their forehead. A little while ago I went away for a weekend with a bunch of friends I've known for 7+ years. They had no idea that all of these years I've never looked them in the eye. It works.

ah, if the person is a male, I would council against focusing at the chest of a female interviewer (or anyone else) if you know what I mean. . .

I think that could keep them from hiring because they might think you can't do the job. That's why I keep quiet about it because I don't want people to judge me and place all these assumptions on me.

doesn't matter as I am not formally diagnosed. How should I behave??? I know that rocking and bing all fidgety would be bad. But..any other ideas? Sort of...do's and don'ts?
