Is anyone familiar with hypnosis? I'm mostly thinking about these self-hypnosis MP3s and apps. They're like some kind of magic. Not like in movies or anything, but it effects your mood, or at the very least, puts you to sleep within minutes. It's been a major fascination of mine for a few months.

I use Hemi-Sync MP3s, I think it could be called self-hyponsis. I use it because I often have insomnia in autumn. I mp3s for deep relaxation, for lucid dreams etc. Good thing is that you can then make the same with no supporting mp3.
I use it to relax and it helps, it helps also regain energy when I feel overloaded with tasks or information, and I also had some lucid dreams this week.
What do you use for self-hypnosis?

I use iPhone apps by Andrew Johnson. The advantage of apps over ordinary MP3s are the options you have, like "Sleep" or "Awaken", "Long induction" or "Short induction", and the number of times the middle part of the hypnosis is played.

I have ones for Deep Relaxation, Deep Sleep, Positivity, Stress-free, Social phobia and a few others. I don't know if they all do what they're supposed to exactly, but they are at the very least extremely relaxing and enjoyable.

Yeah I started going to a hypnotist a couple of weeks ago. Going for my 2nd session next friday. My goals to get some drug states anchored, increase my visualization abilities and learn self hypnosis. I've been planning on learning self hypnosis for a long time, this is a good first step.

Does anyone know of freely available hypnosis audio files? A lucid dreamer one that was better than the one I made for myself would be good.

That Iphone app sounds good.

The full versions cost $3, but there's a free Lite version called Relax with Andrew Johnson. You can get it as an MP3 for free here: http://withandrewjohnson.com/free-hypno ... loads.html
