I don't know how to describe this other than "i can't see". No one understands what I'm talking about but I don't know what else to call it. I have perfect vision but it feels like i'm straining to see through a fog. Like when you cross your eyes or you zone out thats what I feel like and I don't know what causes it. I can remember when I was younger I didn't have this problem I remember being able to see clearly and not being confused. A lot of the time I'm out of it and unaware. I don't know if its from aspergers or i was also in a serious car accident 5 years ago where i hit my head among other things. its hard for me to read. i like books and reading but its almost impossible for me to read anymore i can't absorb the words on the page. helllllllppppp :?

You need to see an optomotrist ASAP. This might be related to your car accident.

Then see a neurologist. (I should have written opthamologist, not optomotrist- this isn't about glasses.) I don't fully understand what you're describing but given that you had a head injury a while ago, there might be damage to your optic nerve or some other part of your brain's visual processing.

Do you think you might be experiencing a bit of burnout? When I was the most intensely forcing myself to be "normal" and ignoring all the pain/overload etc so as to maintain that, I started to feel sort of dissociated after a while -- like what I was seeing and what was going on around me was not-quite-real. I also developed massive problems with reading; my eyes could pass over the words but nothing would sink in. Sometimes my skin would even feel sort of numb.

Anyway, for me that turned out to be massive burnout. I'm not sure what a good solution is, unfortunately; it was years before I was in circumstances where I could decompress enough to get back to "normal."

Actually I was thinking more of like forcing every movement/word/ look and such to be as normal as possible, suppressing all stims, and etc such that there's headaches and massive stress all day long and so forth. Still, depression/anhedonia can be caused by overwork of any sort, of course.

If you're having frequent vision disturbances, get it checked out. It could be early stages of something serious, or it could be an injury from the accident five years ago manifesting itself only now. Or it could be neither. But you won't know until you speak to a medical professional.

I have an issue where I can't "see" if I don't have my hair or some kind of sunglasses or something covering my eyes. It's too bright and too much information to process otherwise. I pretty much walk around blind and uncomfortable if I don't have something in front of my eyes. I don't see a fog though so I don't think that is the same thing but worth mentioning I suppose.

Just because you can see doesn't mean you don't have any eye issues. I went to see my optometrist because I was having difficultly reading; hard to comprehend what i read, words sometimes were blurry or backwards.
He said I had strained eye muscles and prescribed me reading glasses. Reading is less of a strain and I can understand what I read.
Also, I have light sensitivity so I wear my reading glasses always. I should get checked out for Irlen's Syndrome and get some proper glasses but that's too expensive right now.
I think you may have the same problem.
