I don't know what to say!! ! Mom says I shouldn't say I think I have Asperger's but IMO fixing behavior is MORE than just take a pill!! !! !! !! !! !! IMO I'm suffering from the following (outside of social skills, having special interest and stuff based around AS)

1) OMG behavior state (OMG I'm kicked out of college!!)

2) Punched behavior state (I punch you you say WHAT DID YOU DO THAT FOR) IMO I say that of the Psychology teacher that kicked me out of college

3) Death Trauma (lets say your husband died you connect lets say mcdonalds to him and cry everytime you see that place (Me it's anything College based and Boston IS COLLEGE MECA=LOTS of being Emotionally upset including crying. :-(

4) The whole vacation I was thinking of that teacher!! !! ! (NOT ENJOYING MYSELF!! !!)

(IMO this is what I need A) NOT JUST TAKE A PILL B)I need behavior guidance you upset family, friends, students, teachers, coworkers, bosses you need to learn about your behavior before moving on or you will have bad behavior the rest of your life. IMO IT'S NOT OH TAKE A NEW PILL!! !! :-(

(Are these things ok to say I'm confused if I should even mention AS or the 1-4 issues. Please help thanks WP!

I'd recommend finding a local Aspie support group rather than a new psychiatrist. Most people in the "mental health" filed do not get autistic people. I have been to my share of these people, and they all say that i need to work on my self esteem. There is nothing wrong with my self esteem. i am good at a lot of different things. I am smarter as well as more intelligent than most ordinary people. My self image is not my problem. DISCRIMINATION is my main problem. I have to be twice as smart and productive as my NT colleagues in order to get a promotion, etc. The NT world is just not very accepting of autistics.

As for psychiatrists talking with you in order to work out problems, that is just on television. Most just ask you a couple of questions and then write out a prescription or two, or three. I wish that autism was taken completely out of the Diagnostic and Statistical anual of Mental Disorders and put in medical coding books under the heading of neurological disorders. In fact, when I go into a doctor's office and fill out history of medical issues, if there is a listing under psychiatric disorders for autism, I will ignore that and list my autism under neurological disorders or problems. Autism, is a difference in BRAIN STRUCTURE and is not a mental or emotional problem.

I agree wihCyber, psychologists only truly help in solving things and making clinical connections, it sounds you have emotional problems than anything else and if you want medication then that is all a psychologist will give you as they are logical and here in England they like just giving pills.
Seek out a support group or a counciller as they are more useful in emotional situations

hope yo manage to sort out your problems and keep well

My mom's the one getting me this new Psychiatrist. My current one said there's no pill for that ("AS") so there's nothing they could do since this is a place that gives pills. IMO I might list those issues and see where it goes I agree on the pill issue I'm on Lamictal and Wellbutrin XL for "mood swings/depression" for my Bipolar 2 diagnosis but mom/sister etc. think I have AS and I agree with that more than Bipolar 2. :-( I just hope he wants to HELP ME with the emotional issues I listed because my main want (which I dout I get) is WOW YOUR BEHAVIOR UPSET ALL THOSE PEOPLE LETS WORK ON YOUR BEHAVIOR TO MAKE IT BETTER. :-) (NOT Oh this pill will help you behave better.) :-(

Then a psychiatrist is not what you want--you need a psychologist who does something like cognitive behavioral therapy.

Sorry sorry, and yes I did mean that lol
Well tell your mum you don't want to see tis new pychiatrist
there are no true medications but depending on your psyche there are meds trust me I have met an asie on meds and its not pretty not for him anyway, very negatie effects
you should say no to your mu and state you point if you are worried so much but jugin by how you presented yourself in your OP you soud seek councelling or something similar some things that cane rectified by your mum just talking to you and emotionally strengthenig ou but with yor fther I think you said or with your grivance, yo should definately get a structured theropy service as it will help you greatly and you should definately mention your Autism as they could give the wrong advice etc etc

I later mention AS and got the response from earlier) I'm open to atleast try to see if he'll want to help me. :-) Thanks for the replies (overall my Psychology teacher I upset has given me better advice than any Psychiatrist or pill!! !! !! !! !! :-)

As long as it won't cost you your SSI!

Definably try out the new shrink, HOPEFULLY it'll go well and she/he will be a good listener.

MADDuck, you're lucky, you have a psychiatrist that actually talks to you! All my psychiatrists-- and I've seen a lot-- just saw me for 5 minutes or so and then wrote a prescription, or an order to have me hospitalized, or both.
