I can offer some advice too especially if you list some characteristics that you have that you consider to be AS. I am no doctor or anything, but I am 44 years old and what most consider the classic AS type. Since my diagnosis, I have come to do a lot of research about AS and the autistic spectrum. I have also developed my view of my autism. The people who know me will immediately recognize me as a strong believer that autism can give us wonderful gifts if we choose to unwrap them, accept them, and nurture them. So I view autism from a very positive standpoint. But, I still recognize the challenges in my life because of AS. However, I focus on the positive things. You will find others believe this way too. And, you will find those here who view AS/autism from a negative standpoint. And, there are those who are neutral on the matter.
Also, I along with many others here, view autism as a difference rather than a disorder, etc. So in order to help you with a route to a diagnosis, I would like to know how you view your probable autism (positive, negative, neutral/ and as a difference or a disorder?).
