I've been on prozac for a little while now, and seem to be acting as i did in my teens.
My anxiety seems to have almost disapeared and i think i'm acting much more naturaly, is this good, or just a temporary side effect?
Your input would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks, Justin.

How long exactly?

It can have different side effects for different people. It helped my anxiety but I had to come off it because of side effects (loss of appetite etc)

Depending on how long you've been on it, I would say that is good though, and advise you keep on taking it

My son takes Prozac for anxiety, so what you are describing is the result that we were seeking (and found) for him - not a side effect. Although we were told it would take a few weeks for the medication to take full effect, there was a huge positive difference after about three days. Of course, everyone is different.

i have only been on this for 1 week, which surprises me, because the leaflet that came with them says they normaly take 2-4 weeks to take effect.
also some of the side effects listed, i did or had anyway before my decade from hell.

We were shocked when we saw such good effects with my son after such a short time also. Apparently, some people respond much more quickly to the medication than others, which is why the leaflet says 2-4 weeks. Some of the professionals I spoke with seemed to think that if it's going to work, and the anxiety is as high as it was with my son (extraordinarily high), it tends to start working quite quickly, but doesn't take full effect for a little longer. I hope it helps you out! For my son, it gave him his life back.

I hate prozac. It made me shaky and jumpy and then it started making me lose my hair.

Every med I've taken has shown effectiveness on the first day that I've taken it.

Be careful though my friend there are many negative takes on prozac and if anything bad happens don't take it immediately I doubt you will but prozac does have the tendacy to 180 the taker's personality but sometimes in a negative way for example a guy in america started taking prozac killed ll his family and himself, its a very weird drug because its side effects are really varied the killing ones are usually rare o course my aunt is on prozac after my unle, her father died and she is a very happy bubbly person

hope you are well

maybee your quick reaction to the drug is the fabled placebo effect, it sounds like it as the placebo effect is a psychosymatic trigger, that is memory based e.g. for example if someone has a tothache and takes powerful paracetomal and instantly feels better that is the placebo effect.
The placebo effect in mental medication seems to be more common in my knowledge so maybe my friend it is placebo effect for you?

i don't think it's a placebo effect as this is the 6th antidepessant i've been on in the last 2 years and haven't had this with any other meds.
But i could be wrong off course.
