How many people think a member who purposely infects other peoples computers with a trojan, like the one that nitraine did in WP chatroom with the trojan Exploit-IEPageSpoof, should be dealt with by WP admin?

As we were chating nitraine invited to click on a link and instead were ambushed by a virus, which he claimed was just a joke. Now I don't know about other people, but I don't really care to have someone try and mess with my computer, even as a joke. I had to run a virus scan and discontinue chatting, because it wreaked havoc with my computer. This was extremely annoying.

That is not right even it was to be a joke. I have gotten many Trojans in My day being on the computer. Who really knows what the site adim will do about it but they should do something about it I think.

The link was a classic internet shock site from:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_shock_sites

I thought all it did was pop up 1000 windows.

I didn't know it did anything bad to your computer.

I'm sorry I posted that in chat and won't do it again.

Let us consider the intentions behind making this a public thread, in a public forum.

Could he have just as easily sent any moderator a pm?
T are you old enough to be drinking?

It was not I that made it public SB2 even nitraine publicly apologised for doing what nitraine has done in the end. I am sure it will not happen again. For nitraine did not understand what would happen when it happened. I saw no Moderators Looking in to it though they will in the end. No harm was meant. Though the site admin will no dought look in to it in the end.

I think that I have picked up viruses from this site, also. My anti-virus scan seems to come up alot, and my computer slows alot. I am a computer idiot but a friend of mine has to clean it up for me every time he comes over. This is pretty much the only site frequented with my computer.

I'm grateful this was posted publicly; now I know never to click any link in the chatroom. I trust the people here so I probably would have.

If you had ever bothered to to talk to DrinkingT, you would know she is not a flamer. Sometimes problems arise on the chatroom that multiple members need to address so that the moderators can get a clear picture of what is going on so they can address it. Since groups of members don't have a private forum to do this on, they must do it out in the open.

Actually my security did pick it up and blocked and deleted it thats how I knew the name of it. However, I still don't like people messing with my computer on purpose. I work and I don't need my computer disabled by a prank.

this has been noted by the mods - as nitraine has explained what's happened, i think it's probably sorted, isn't it?

if not, please let me know.

as for the slowing down of the site - that happens when there's a lot of traffic on the site. are you running IE or another browser, as IE is a nightmare for trojans etc.

Then i wonder why there would have to be a mention of a name.

according to the authors title post
Quote:
which he claimed was just a joke.

if it was a general caution; then a general statement would suffice.

if it was thought that he was a concern there are easy ways to get a moderators attention, to which they would make note, and keep an eye on the situation.

i wonder why there was a singling out of an individual.

I also mentioned Anti American Statement which, was a flaming topic.
it led to a suspension of an individual and warnings agaimst others.

the questions i asked were pertinent.

Sean,
Kiss peoples ass on someone elses time.
