Well its some tricks you can do to get away with a photo with open eyes
One is to take the photo without flash
Another is to set the cam on "red eye disortion" its a special function that is made to prevent eyes beeing red but also prepares the eyes for the camera flash
And a third is the cameraman say to all of you who is supposed to appear on the photo to close your eyes. Then when he say "open" then you all open your eyes at the same time and click!
The third one does work with me, there is too much delay in practice.
You need to be steady without flash for enough light to get in before the shutter closes.
Red eye may help, but my eyes seem to react anyway.
